font size=6>I love to fish for
catfish! They get so big it is almost
like freshwater shark fishing. The real
fun comes after you figure out what they
are "hitting" on. Below is a list of my
favorite catfish baits.( some
of the baits will have links below them
showing you how to use them)
The baits are listed in order of
preference:- #1.) Jens' "JawsBreaker catfish
bait".An
amino acid based attractant. Mixed with
cereal this bait can't be beat! I have
consistently caught big "Blue" and
"Channel" cats with this bait!
- #2.) Live bluegill and other
baitfish. Fished properly these can be
deadly on ol' Mr. whiskers!

- #3.) Bluegill heads. To use as bait
cut right behind the gill covers. Hook
the head through the eyes using a 6/0
hook. Suspend 1 - 2' off of the bottom
using a slip bobber.
- #4.) Live Crayfish. Hook them
through the tail and fish them on the
bottom.
- #5.) Frozen shrimp. I like to fish
them below a slip bobber near cover. I
thread them onto a #4 short shank bronze
hook. Shrimp seems to work best during
the spring months.
- #6.) Chicken Liver. This bait can be
hard to fish with.

- #7.) Catalpa Worms. There is a trick
to using these as catfish bait.

- #8.) Night Crawlers. My least
favorite. Too many little fish will
nibble on worms. I will use them only as
a last resort.
