Psalm 25:5

" ... for you are God my Savior, ... "

Who is Christ?

This is important - very important. Since He is the only way to Salvation, then there is no more important person to know then Him. All others lead to death - whether it is Einstein, Ghandi, Buddha, Ayn Rand, William Buckley, etc. etc. ALL others lead to eternal damnation. Only the Lord Jesus Christ will lead you to Salvation. So it is important that you believe on Him, for He alone is the way, truth, and life.

My desire in this page is to point Him out clearly so you too may believe. Of course, as always, only the LORD can open your eyes and free you from the veil of sin that is man - this world. May your eyes be open, may the LORD pour His Spirit into your hearts so you may share in the only one true hope there is, in Jesus' name, amen.

Who is Christ?

  1. He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14)

  8. He spoke to Samson's parents, as a sign of the coming ressurection. (Judges 13:1-23)
  9. He is The Rabbi (Ecc. 1:1)
  10. He is the Way. (Isaiah 35:8-9)
  11. He was born a man. (Matt. 1:1-17)
  12. He was born a Jew. (Luke 3:23-38)
  13. He is the Word of God(John 1)

  17. He is the firstborn over all creation. (Col. 1:15)
  18. By him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were c reated by Him and for Him. (Col. 1:16)
  19. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)
  20. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. (Col. 1:18)
  21. He is our hope. (Col. 1:27)
  22. He has all the fullness of the Deity, in bodily form. (Col. 2:9)
  23. He is reality. (Col. 2:17)
  24. He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. (Heb.12:2)

  26. He is the cornerstone* (Ephesians 2:19-22)
  27. ...etc....

"For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross." -Colossians 1:19-20

He is the Messiah

"Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great:
HE APPEARED IN A BODY,
WAS VINDICATED BY THE SPIRIT,
WAS SEEN BY ANGELS,
WAS PREACHED AMONG THE NATIONS,
WAS BELIEVED ON IN THE WORLD,
WAS TAKEN UP IN GLORY."
~~~1 Timothy 3:16~~~
ALL glory to God!
Jesus taught us that He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. a long time ago, maybe when i was ~6mos. old in my faith, i knew this paralleled the attributes of God: He is Life, Light, and Love. i knew the two were connected in some way - afterall, look at how one phrase ends and the other begins - both on "Life" - as if to say: "one leads to the other"!
But even more, the LORD allowed me see how true the meaning of image is -
The LORD God God, the Father Life Light Love
Christ, the Lord Christ, the Son Way Truth Life
You see how clear? Christ is the image of God. I hope that the Lord opens your eyes, in Jesus' name, amen.
All glory to God!
Praise God! I just asked the LORD God Almighty for a verse to understand - something I can put on the website and this is what came up:
2 Corinthians 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
This is the entire message of the Bible. It says why God created. So this is how I understand it.
God made him: God is the One Who planted the seed in the womb of the Godly woman Mary.
who had no sin: God's son was utterly sinless - utterly clean of any sin.
to be sin for us: God placed onto Christ all the sins - past, present, and future - committed by us.
so that in him: Faith in Christ is the only path. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. All glory to God!
we might: This is the hope we have when we come to faith in Christ.
become the righteousness of God.: Meaning, receive Salvation.
All glory to God!
Recently a person in the newsgroup I use to visit daily said that Christ is not God. Now I knew that Christ is not God the Father, but that He is God the Son. So I asked God to allow me to find verses which would prove this to the neigh-sayer. The bottom line is that here are all the verses which the LORD allowed me to find.
Verses which prove the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ
Post 1:
= Exodus 34:4-7 =
4 So Moses chiseled out two stone tablets like the first ones and went up
Mount Sinai early in the morning, as the LORD had commanded him; and he
carried the two stone tablets in his hands.
5 Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with him and
proclaimed his name, the LORD.
6 And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD , the LORD , the
compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and
faithfulness,
7 maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and
sin.
All glory to God!
Post 2:
= Exodus 33:12-23 =
12 Moses said to the LORD , "You have been telling me, 'Lead these people,'
but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, 'I
know you by name and you have found favor with me.'
13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and
continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."
14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you
rest."
15 Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not
send us up from here.
16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people
unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from
all the other people on the face of the earth?"
17 And the LORD said to Moses, "I will do the very thing you have asked,
because I am pleased with you and I know you by name."
18 Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."
19 And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you,
and I will proclaim my name, the LORD , in your presence. I will have mercy
on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have
compassion.
20 But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
21 Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a
rock.
22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover
you with my hand until I have passed by.
23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not
be seen."
Post 3:
= John 10:30 =
30 "I and the Father are one."
All glory to God!
Post 4:
= Colossians 2:8-9 =
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy,
which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than
on Christ.
9 "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,..."
I just read "[Jesus Again Predicts His Death ]" on the biblegateway.com homepage. It struck me as odd that the word "predicts" was chosen to describe the associated verse. (Here is the verse)
Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!" - Matthew 20:17-19
I thought about it and thought about it and realized that "predicts" is a human activity. Men try to predict the future. The Lord does not try - He knows with no doubt. I would say that Christ was informing His apostles of the attack that will take place.
Romans 1:3-4
4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord
I read this while adding to my website and the meaning came clear to me - after 11 years of my eyes being opened. This is why I always say "all glory to God!"
Matthew 9:4-8 (also in Mark 2 and Luke 5)
  1. Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.
  2. Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."
  3. At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!"
  4. Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
  5. Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?
  6. But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home."
  7. And the man got up and went home.
  8. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.
And the meaning suddenly came to me - Christ was saying that it is easy for a man to blaspheme by forgiving a man's sins but it is impossible for a man to make a lame man walk. Thus by not saying this explicitly He was showing them that He is the Son of God.
All glory to God!
Sabbath, 6/25/05 7:23 AM
Romans 9:5
"... and from them (Paul's brothers, the Jews) is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised!"
*Regarding Christ as the "cornerstone" which the builders rejected:
Isaiah 28:16
So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.
Zechariah 10:4
From Judah will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler.
Ephesians 2:20
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
1 Peter 2:6
For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Psalm 118:22
"The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; ..."
Isaiah 8:14
" ... and he will be a sanctuary; but for both houses of Israel he will be a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare."
Their house (Israel) is destroyed as God promised (2 Chronicles 7:19); they stumble over Christ (above verses) and still they don't see. (The reason, I just now read, is this: Romans 1:19 "...since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.") May God richly bless you so that you will see, in Jesus' name, amen.
Praise God! I found this Old Testament chapter. It should be very clear. May God richly bless you; may He open your eyes so that you may see; in Jesus' name, amen.
Isaiah 53:1-12
  1. Who has believed our message
    and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
  2. He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
    and like a root out of dry ground.
    He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
    nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
  3. He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
    Like one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
  4. Surely he took up our infirmities
    and carried our sorrows,
    yet we considered him stricken by God,
    smitten by him, and afflicted.
  5. But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
    the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
    and by his wounds we are healed.
  6. We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
    each of us has turned to his own way;
    and the LORD has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.
  7. He was oppressed and afflicted,
    yet he did not open his mouth;
    he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
    and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
    so he did not open his mouth.
  8. By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
    And who can speak of his descendants?
    For he was cut off from the land of the living;
    for the transgression of my people he was stricken.
  9. He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
    and with the rich in his death,
    though he had done no violence,
    nor was any deceit in his mouth.
  10. Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
    and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
    he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
    and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
  11. After the suffering of his soul,
    he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
    by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
    and he will bear their iniquities.
  12. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
    and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
    because he poured out his life unto death,
    and was numbered with the transgressors.
    For he bore the sin of many,
    and made intercession for the transgressors.
For a non-believer no proof is valid; for the believer, no proof is neceesary (for all things are known by the Holy Spirit through God's word (= the Bible and Christ). However, if you would read perhaps you will believe.
Matthew 9:1-8
  1. Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.
  2. Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."
  3. At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!"
  4. Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
  5. Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?
  6. But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home."
  7. And the man got up and went home.
  8. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.
Also in Mark 2:1-12, and Luke 5:17-26.
All glory to God!
He is the Rock:
  1. Genesis 49:24
    But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
  2. Exodus 17:6
    I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. [And in the New Testament, the new covenant God promised in Jeremiah 31:31, Christ said in John 4:14: "...but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." All glory to God!
  3. Exodus 33:21
    Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.
John 1:1-18
  1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  2. He was with God in the beginning.
  3. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
  4. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
  5. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
  6. There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.
  7. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.
  8. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
  9. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.
  10. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.
  11. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.
  12. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God -
  13. children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
  14. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
  15. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'"
  16. From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.
  17. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
  18. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
Later in John 1
John 1:29-34
  1. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
  2. This is the one I meant when I said, 'A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'
  3. I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel."
  4. Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.
  5. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'
  6. I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."
All praise and glory to God, in Jesus' name, amen!
I wondered about the Catholic Church's claim that their authority derives from Peter. They misunderstand the "rock" Christ is referring to as Himself - not Peter. (This is clear from the fact that God is referred to as a "rock" in the Old Testament.)
So about 2 weeks(?) ago I asked God if there was a verse in the Bible which clearly states (so all doubt or questionability is removed) that Christ is the rock. I just found this verse searching for something else. Nonetheless, here it is and you can see for yourself that it says the Lord is the "rock."
Corinthians 10:4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock is Christ.
For emphasis: " ... and that rock is Christ."
All glory to God!
Please believe that Christ is our rock, the cornerstone which the builders trip over. He is our Lord and Savior. No man can ever be that rock. Peter is not the rock. He, just as all priests, ministers, and teachers of the law, and myself as well (of course), are only men. We sin against God. But Christ? Christ is one with the Father, the LORD God Almighty.
A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing.
Bring God's word with a gentle spirit and not one of combat.
God loves a gentle spirit.
God desires mercy.
All of the above describe Christ in His activity and in His ways. May God open your eyes to see that He is the Lord, the promised Messiah, the One True Son of the One True Living LORD God Almighty, in Jesus' name, amen!
I realized this just this morning - amazing. However, I knew the two verses separately for quite some time - but did not put them together until just this morning. That's why I always say: All glory to God!.
1 Samuel 8:1-7
  1. When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as judges for Israel.
  2. The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba.
  3. But his sons did not walk in his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.
  4. So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah.
  5. They said to him, "You are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have."
  6. But when they said, "Give us a king to lead us," this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the LORD.
  7. And the LORD told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king
In a Jewish "Companion to the Bible" I found this verse:
Psalm 19:14
And this I just found, by God's grace:
John 8:58
"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"
It is so clear ... Jesus is the Son of God, but He is God, the Son.
And then I found this soon after at a site called Apologetics for Christians:
Isaiah 44:6
"This is what the LORD says —
    Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty:
    I am the first and I am the last;
    apart from me there is no God.
We all know Christ is the alpha and the omega = the first and the last! It is abundantly clear - of this there is no doubt: Christ is the Son of God, and He is - God, the Son!
All glory to the One True Living LORD God Almighty, in Jesus' name, amen!
And finally,
Revelation 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Revelation 21:6
He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
Revelation 22:13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
...and these are the words of Jesus as recorded by John exiled for his faith on the island of Patmos
May God richly bless you, may your eyes be opened so that you too will share in the hope of living in eternal peace with the One True Living LORD God Almighty, in Jesus' name, amen.
