Michael Blevins is an accomplished Director/Choreographer having choreographed the Off-Broadway production of "The Mad Forest" for the Manhattan Theatre Club and several national TV commercials for "Days Inn", plus music videos for redording artists Melba Moore and Amy Grant. He has lent his choreographic assistance to a long list of network television specials including "How To Be A Man" with Scott Biao for CBS and "The Country Music Awards" with Charlie Daniels and Barbara Mandrell for NBC. He has Directed and Choreographed the National Tours of "Babes In Toyland", "Aladdin", and "Tom Sawyer" for the American Family Theatre. Most recently he was comissioned to create "American Sampler: 100 Years of Musical Theatre Dance" for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center as part of their state-side Theatre Academy for public school children.
Mr. Blevins attended the University of North Carolina and continued his training in the performing arts at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Broadway way Credits include: Bring Back Birdie, Little Me, and The Tap Dance Kid. Film credits include: Richard Attenborough’s Chaplin, “Mark” in the film A Chorus Line, and Woody Allen’s Zelig. Blevins has worked with other Tony & Oscar winning directors and performers such as: Bob Fosse, Vivian Matalon, Michael Douglas, Chita Rivera, Diane Lane and Bebe Neuwirth.
He has gained international recognition as an arts educator having trained such Broadway luminaries as Savion Glover & Melissa Errico. Teaching credits also include: the K-12 public school system, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts exclusive studio program, Broadway Dance Center, Folkuniversitete Balettakademien under the artistic direction of Lia Schubert in Gothenborg, Sweden, and created the Musical Theatre Works Academy with the legendary Gwen Verdon .
