On our way towards the I-87/I-287 split, we get the first warnings of the imminent arrival at the Sloatsburg Service Area, where parents with kids will go broke paying for goodies. Remember to bring Lysol to spray the toilet seats with. Others will leave the Thruway first, but not for I-287, which will slowly curve south towards south Jersey. Instead, the Route 17 bound sometimes try to beat Thruway traffic by jumping onto the old section of 17 snaking up from Jersey. It will shadow the Thruway all the way up to Monroe, where both roads meet up with the Quickway. All taken May 28th, 2001. |
