Scripture Songs Volume 2 Lyrics

Track One: Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want
He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside still waters
He restoreth my wounded soul
He guides me in paths of righteousness
Bringing honor to his name

Though I walk through the valley of death
I will fear no evil for you are with me
Thy rod and thy staff they….. comfort me

You prepare for me a table with my enemies
You anoint my head with oil
My cup overflows with blessings of God
Your goodness and love come with me
I will dwell in the house of the Lord my God
And live with Him forever

Track Two: The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-11)
Blessed are...the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are... those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Blessed are...the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are... the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are you who are suffering for my name sake
For great is your reward

Track Three: Joshua 24:14-27
Fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness
Put away the idols and gods your fathers served
But if you feel you cannot worship God alone
Then choose this day whom you will serve, and do it today

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (3x)
We will worship him, and obey His every word

The people said, how could we not serve the Lord your God
He brought us out of Egypt, and out of slavery
He performed great signs and wonders right before our eyes
He kept His eyes upon our lives on all the roads we walked

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (3x)
We will worship him, and obey His every word

Joshua spoke to the crowd, you cannot serve the Lord
If you forsake His blessings, and serve the foreign gods
He will bring destruction and make an end of you
So choose this day whom you will serve and do it today

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (3x)
We will worship him, and obey His every word

The people in agreement said we will serve the Lord
We will throw away our idols and the gods we used to serve
So Joshua retrieved a stone and said this is our sign
A covenant to God our King, we will worship and obey

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (3x)
We will worship him, and obey His every word
----------------------------------------------------
Track Four: Psalm 145
I'll exalt you my God, The King over all
I will praise your name forever
I will lift up my voice, Extol Your name
I will praise your name forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

His greatness none fathom, Generations will tell
of your mighty deeds forever
They will speak of your majesty and glorious splender
I will think of your works forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

They will celebrate Your goodness, and joyfully sing
of your righteousness forever
Your are slow to anger, rich in love,
your compassion and grace last forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

The Lord is good to all, has compasion on all He's made
we will praise You oh Lord forever
They will tell of your kingdom and speak of your might
so that all men will know you forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

The Lord is faithful, and true to His word
loving all He has made forever
The Lord upholds all who fall and those who bow down
Your mercy will last forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

The eyes of all look to You, You supply all their needs
and satisfy desires of everything
The Lord He is righteous, in all of His ways
His love endures forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)

The Lord is near to all, who call Him in truth,
the fearful's desires are ful-filled
He hears their cry to Him, and saves them from their sin
And watches over all who love Him

Let my mouth always speak, in praises to the Lord
I will worship Him forever
Let all creatures sing praise, To the holy name of God
and worship Him forever

Great are you Lord and worthy of our praise (3x)
----------------------------------------------------
Track Five: Matthew 6:25-34
Do not, worry about your life
what you’ll eat or what you’ll drink;
or about your own body, or what you will wear
Is not life more important
more important than food
and the body more important than the clothes you wear?
Do not worry about what tomorrow brings,
for tomorrow, will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble, trouble of its own.

Look at the birds of the air;
they do not sow or reap
or store away into barns,
Yet your Father feeds them.

Are you, not, so much more,
More valuable than they?
And who of you by worrying
can add an hour to life?

Do not worry about what tomorrow brings,
for tomorrow, will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble, trouble of its own.

See how the lilies of the field,
see how the lilies grow,
No, they do not labor there
and they do not spin.

And Not even Solomon
in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these.
Not like one of these

Do not worry about what tomorrow brings,
for tomorrow, will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble, trouble of its own.

If that is how God clothes the grass
here today and tomorrow is
thrown in to the fire,
will he not much more clothe you,

O you of little faith?
Do not worry, questioning
'What shall we eat or what, shall we drink?'
Or 'What shall we wear?'

Do not worry about what tomorrow brings,
for tomorrow, will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble, trouble of its own.

O you of little faith?
do not worry, questioning,
‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’
or ‘What shall we wear?’

For the pagans run after
run after all these things,
and your heavenly Father knows,
knows that you need them.

But seek first God's kingdom in heaven
and all his righteousness,
and all these things will be given,
given unto you
----------------------------------------------------
Track Six: Acts 4:1-22
The captain and the priests,
of the temple guard,
and the Sadducees,
came up to Peter and John
As the two men spoke,
to the people there,
the religious men got mad,
and here’s the reason why

It’s because the apostles were teaching the people
and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. (2x)

They seized Peter and John,
and because it was night,
they were put into jail,
until the next day.

But many who heard,
the message believed,
and the number of men,
grew five thousand that day

The very next day John and Peter were brought before them
and the religious men began to question them:
"By what power or name, did you do this?"
Please tell us right now, for we want to know

While filled with the Spirit,
Peter said to them:
If we have to give account,
of a cripple healed today

Then I want you to know,
It is by the name of Christ,
whom you crucified,
but God raised from the dead,

Through the name of Jesus this man stands healed before you
Jesus Christ is the stone you the builders would not use.
He’s become to us
the most important stone of all,
for now He is, the chief cornerstone.

Salvation is found,
in no one else,
for there is,
no other name,

under heaven,
given to men,
in by which,
we must be saved

Now when they saw the courage, of the two of them
they clearly saw, they knew not much at all
Then they realized, these men had been with Jesus,
Since the man was healed there was nothing they could say.

They told Peter and John,
do not speak or teach,
the name of Jesus Christ,
to the people that you meet
Peter and John replied,
do you think God would want
us to listen to you,
or to obey His word?

For we cannot help, speak of what, we’ve seen and heard.
And with that the officials, let them go free
All the people were praising God for what had happened.
For the man, had been lame, for over forty years.
----------------------------------------------------
Track Seven: 1 Corinthians 13
If I could speak, in any language
in heaven or on the earth
and have not love I’ve become a clanging cymbal

If my gift was to prophesy
to know all things the future holds,
But did not love, what good would I really be?

If my faith could move the mountains,
giving all too the poor, even my own body
But had not love, how would that profit me?

Love is patient, love is kind
it does not envy or even boast,
it is not proud, and never is it rude
It’s not self seeking, and not provoked,
it keeps no records of when it’s wronged
It delights not in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

Love protects & will always trust,
it always hopes, always perseveres,
Love never fails, but goes on & on forever

There are three things that remain,
faith, hope, and love, they will endure,
but the greatest of these three is love
----------------------------------------------------
Track Eight: Luke 5:17-26
One day as Jesus was teaching
the Pharisees and teachers of the law
who had come from every village
to sit and listen to him speak

The power of the Lord was present (3x)
for him to heal the sick.

Some men came with a paralytic
who was lying on a mat
They tried to take him into the house
to lay him before Jesus feet

When they could not find a way
to do this because of the crowd
They went up on the roof and lowered him
through the ceiling in front of Jesus feet

When Jesus had seen their faith (3x)
He said, Friend, your sins are forgiven.

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law
began thinking to themselves
"Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy?
Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

Jesus knew what they were thinking
and asked, Why do you think this in your hearts?
Which is easier: to say to him,
Son, your sins are forgiven,
' or 'Get up and walk'?

But that you may know that the Son of Man
has authority on earth to forgive sins...."
He said to the man who was paralyzed
get up, take your mat and go home.

Immediately he stood in front of them,
took what he had been lying on
went home dancing and praising God….
For now he could walk

Everyone there was amazed
and gave praise to God that day
They were filled with awe and then they said,
We have seen great things today. (3x)
----------------------------------------------------
Track Nine: John 13:4-17
After the feast, After the feast,
after the Passover feast
Jesus got up and then he poured the water in a bowl

Jesus washed His disciples’ feet (3x)
then dried them with a towel

Then Jesus knelt, down on one knee,
to wash Simon’s feet
Then Simon asked, why wash my feet?
I do not understand

You do not realize what I am doing,
but later you’ll remember this
and then you’ll understand

No Lord you won’t, I can’t allow
You to wash my feet here
Jesus replied, if you refuse,
You have no part with me

Then Lord, not just my feet
but my hands and head as well,
wash me from head to toe,
Simon said to Him

A person who has had a bath
needs only to wash his feet;
his body’s clean, and you are clean,
but not all of you

Don’t you see it’s not about,
if you’re body’s clean or not,
I want you to understand
it’s the act of service done

When he was done, washing their feet,
Jesus asked the disciples
Now do you know, what I have done
for you today?"

You are right when you say to me,
I am the teacher, I am the Lord
Just as I Have washed your feet,
go and do so as well

I tell the truth, no servant is,
greater than his Lord
Nor can the man, be greater than
the one who has sent him.

Now that you know these things, (3x)
You’ll be blessed if you do them
----------------------------------------------------
Track Ten: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13/Luke 11:1-4)
As Jesus was praying,
in a certain place
the disciples gathered ‘round
When Jesus was finished,
a disciple then said,
Jesus teach us how to pray,
Just like John……
Taught his disciples

Jesus then said,
to His disciples
this is how you should pray
Our Father In Heaven,
hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come, your will be done
On the earth…
as it is in heaven

Give us today,
our daily bread,
forgive us Lord of all our sins
And Lord please help us,
to forgive,
everyone who has sinned against us
And lead us not…
into temptation,
Deliver us…
from the one whose evil
----------------------------------------------------
Track Eleven: Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth
worship the Lord with gladness,
Come before Him with joyful songs,
know that the Lord is God
It is He who has made us and we are His,
we are His people,…the sheep of His pasture

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and enter His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him and praise His name
for the Lord He is good
His love endures forever,
His faithfulness continues
through all generations…
