"The War Memorial", Wall,NJ 7/25 There are a lot of reasons why teams lose hockey games, short bench, lack of effort, bad goaltending, poor coaching and sometimes just because they play a better team. That was the case Tuesday night when the Motley Crew soundly defeated the River Rats 5-2. The Crew controlled every aspect of the game with sharp passing, solid defense and siezing apon every Rat mistake. Excellent goaltending by Joe kept the score as close as it finished. The River Rats showed some real hustle during the last half of the game but by then the Crew was in control. Besides Joe's goaltending a few other bright spots for the Rats were Todd's breakaway, unassited goal and Mark's goal that came from a lot of hard work by Todd and Mike. Although again shorthanded and playing with only three defensemen the River Rats did not play badly, Motley Crew is just that good and should win the league championship.
