Leslie jumped up and ran to the door."Nick!!!" she shouted. Nick never looked back, he just drove off as fast as he could. Aj joined Leslie at the door.
"Leslie I'm sorry, I had no idea he..." Leslie cut AJ off.
"It's not your fault Aj , don't worry. I have an idea where he may be." With those words, Leslie grabbed her keys and got in her car. She waved to AJ and went to find Nick. There was only one place she could think that he would go. As Leslie arrived at the small pond, she look over at the big weeping willow , where she and Nick had first met....
one year earlier:
Leslie was sitting on a blanket under a huge weeping willow, writing a paper on her laptop, when she heard something running towards her. As she turned around, two pug puppies jumped and knocked her down. They stood on her and licked her face as she laughed. "Mickey! Willie! Get back here! Bad dogs!" someone was shouting. Leslie finally was able to sit up as she petted the dogs. She looked up as a tall guy with blonde hair and the most gorgeous blue eyes reached down to get his dogs. "I'm sorry miss, I hope that my dogs didn't..." He froze as there eyes met. They both just looked at each other for a minute. The guy cleared his throat, "ahem, umm, hi...my name is Nick." Leslie smiled.
"I know who you are...Mr.Star. My little sister is quite a fan of yours. My name is Leslie." Nick blushed as he shook Leslie's hand. They talked that whole afternoon until Nick had finally gotten up the courage to ask Leslie out on a date....and the rest is history....
So here Leslie was again , back at the tree. And sure enough , there was Nick, sitting under it, his head in his hands. Leslie got out of her car and slowly walked to him. She bent down beside him and began to try and explain.."Nick? I..." Nick cut her off.
"Leslie how could you do this to me...Aj? He's one of my best friends!" Leslie looked at Nick , anger in her eyes.
"Dammit Nick! How could I do this to you? What the hell are you thinking! Look what you did to me! I gave you my heart, and the night before you left...the boat...remember the ring? And as for AJ, that was nothing. He came over and we talked. We were just giving each other a friendly hug and I was going to call you. But then you walk in and start jumping to conclusions. So see? You have no reason to be mad. Actually, you should be thanking AJ....." Leslie took Nick's hand. "He told me what he heard you telling Brian one night about how the other girl meant nothing to you. He was the one that convinced me to make up with you." Nick looked into Leslie's eyes.
"Baby I never meant to hurt you. I'm sorry. And plus, I talked to her yesterday..she broke up with me...said I talked about you too much. Leslie I never want to be without you again. I...Iove you." He leaned over and kissed her. Leslie spoke up , "Nick I love you too." As they hugged, Nick reached into his pocket.
"Leslie, there was something that I was going to do that night I arrived at the airport. He opened up a box containing a small silver ring. It had an onyx in the center....Leslie had remembered telling Nick what her ideal engagement ring would look like. This was it. She had tears in her eyes. "Leslie Denise Bradley...I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?" Leslie started crying as she hugged Nick.
She looked back at him, he too had tears in his eyes,"Yes." They both smiled and Nick kissed her as they fell back on the grass. Nick lifted himself up a bit and placed his hand on Leslie's stomach.
"So I'm gonna be a daddy?" he asked.
"Well I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think so." They spent the rest of the night under the willow tree. They talked forever until they fell asleep in each others arms. Little did they know that someone was watching them raging with jealousy...someone they both knew very well....
