BENJAMIN THOMAS AND WIFE TO JESSE BRYANT
This indenture made this 11 day of October 1819, Between Benjamin Thomas and Rebecca Thomas of the County of Anson and State of North Carolina of the one part and Jesse Bryant of the County and State of the other part Witnesseth that the sd. Benjamin Thomas and Rebecca Thomas for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid by Jesse Bryant the receipt and payment wherof is hereby acknowledged and themselfes fully sssatisfied and contented and paid hath given granted bargained and sold and do by these presents give grant bargain sell unto ths sd. Jesse Bryant a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Anson and State ---one side of Retherford. Beginning at a red oak James Jinkins corner and runs with his line No. No. 70 E. 180 poles to a rock by three post oaks in Pinion's line then fifty West 200 poles to a stake then direct to the beginning containing two hundred acres of land Together with all woods ways waters and water courses unto sd. Jesse Bryant his heirs and assigns doth warrant and forever defend the above land with all its members aagainst the lawfull claim or claims of any person or persons whatssoever unto him the sd. Jesse Bryant his heirs forever. In Witness whereof the sd. Benjamin Thomas and Rebecca Thomas have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seal the day and year above written. ANSON, JULY SS. 1829. Ordered that N. B. Jenkins and Thomas Griffin Esq. by appointed to take the private examination of Rebecca Thomas as to her free and voluntary consent in the execution of the written Deed.

No. Carolina, Anson County. We undersigned Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid have taken the private examination of Rebecca Thomas agreeable to the order of Court above, who acknowledged that she executed the written Deed of conveyance freely & volentarilly without the constraint of her husband. In Testamony whereof we set our hands and seals this -----day of July 1829.
