Foster
Parents
There is a
very special kind of people
They are
called
Foster
Parents
When
I was ill and had emergency
surgery
I needed to place my sons
in
a foster home as I had no family
who
could take them.
My
sons went to a very special couple
A
warm and loving environment
Jim
and Laura
are
their names
And
I will always love them
for
looking after my children.
Jim
and Laura were foster parents
to
300 foster children in a span of
34
years.
Says
Laura
"Being
a Foster Parent
is
a hardship. A lot of the
children
do not like change. The
children
are so traumatized when
put
in the Foster Parent System."
A
lot of the children we looked after
were
returned to their parents and
many
of the children wanted to
return
to our home instead.
Some
of the children came from
alcoholic
homes and were untaught.
They
were difficult to deal with
because
for the first time in their
lives
there were "boundaries" .
Jim
and Laura adopted a baby boy.
Billy
was placed in their care at just
10
days old in 1965 and the formal
adoption
went through when Billy
was
8 years old.
Thank
you so much, Jim and Laura,
for
being there when my children
needed
a safe place to go to while
I
was ill. I will never forgot you.
My
children are better children
because
you gave them love and
comfort
when they had to be away
from
their mom.
Words
are so inadequate to express
my
gratitude but I want you to know
not
a day goes by Laura, that I
do not think
about
you and Jim.
Much
Love,
Angela
xoxo
