Dear Gary,

My friend, my teacher, my mentor, my hero....I miss you! I'm grateful for the amazing moments that you somehow magically continue to share, but I'm sad I can no longer sit with you on your old side porch...talking, laughing, and dreaming. I'm sad I can't sit behind your drums, playing, singing, and sweating nervously for you any more, but I'm ever so grateful for the time I spent learning from you, taking in your generous spirit. You taught me so much Gary, and you taught me so well. You opened a door, a whole new way of learning this incredible instrument for me. You shared your knowledge, helped me build my skills, and reminded me of the beauty in 'doing', which in turn led to my understanding...the greatest gift a teacher can bestow upon a student! Thank you my great teacher!

Your incredible New Breed system of learning continues to inspire as you wished. Each new student that 'gets it!', walks away a better drummer. Those of us who were blessed to get your deep wisdom as well, walk away better people too. I love you Gary.

Thank you for everything, and Happy Birthday my most dear friend,

Chrissy
