BARBETTE FALK, soprano/alto saxophone, Multi-saxophonist and founder of Quartette Barbette. She attended U of Oregon where she studied with Dr. J. Robert Moore (a student of Marcel Mule), as well as having been a member of the Mt Hood Community College Jazz Lab One band. Barbette has performed with the Oregon Symphony Pops with Johnny Mathis, Columbia and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras, local musical theatre and many of the areas finest big bands. Session work includes soprano sax solos on "Lonesome Heart", ""Handle with Care", Kelly Jones, and tenor sax on Lew Jones' "Vanport Flood", "Sublimation". Favorite past performances also includes work with the late, great Joe Williams and Dennis Rowland (both vocalists with The Count Basie Big Band), as well as clinics/performances with Pete Christlieb, Bobby Shew, The Four Freshman, Billy Childs and Dr. Billy Taylor. She currently resides in SE Portland where she teaches privately. She is a native Oregonian!

JOHN GROSS, Alto Saxophone, an internationally respected musician, has resided in Portland since 1991. Among his employers past and present; Harry James, Stan Kenton, Lionel Hampton, Shelly Manne, Don Ellis, Woody Herman and Toshiko Akiyoshi. He performs regularly with Gordon Lee Quartet, David Friesen, David Frishberg, Alan Jones Sextet and his own groups Blema Bii and the John Gross quartet. John has taught at universities in the US and Europe and is the author of "185 Multiphonics for the Saxophone, A Practical Guide" published by Advance Music.

KRIS KLAVIK, Tenor Saxophone, brings an extensive background of jazz, symphony orchestra and musical theater experience to the group. Before locating to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Kris had the pleasure of studying with John Setar and Jon Ellis in Los Angeles as well as Bill Ogilvey and Dan Higgins at the University of North Texas. She's performed with Fear No Music, Eugene Symphony Orchestra, The Bloch Festival Orchestra, Cascade Music Festival, Sinfonia Concertante, Mock's Crest Productions, Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and Eugene Opera among others. When not playing with Quartette Barbette, look for Kris performing with Oregon Mozart Players, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Newport Symphony Orchestra, Bravo!Vancouver, and the Woodwind Conspiracy. When not performing Kris enjoys spending time at home in her garden with her incredible cat Gus.

T. KELLY POLYCHRONIS, Baritone Saxophone, is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah, graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education in 1988 and a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting in 1990. During his college studies he played Baritone and Alto Saxophones in the University Wind Symphony and Sax Quartet. In 2005, he received a Master of Science in School Counseling from Portland State University.

Mr. Polychronis has been conducting youth orchestras and teaching instrumental music at the high school level since 1990, and is currently a school counselor at H. B. Lee Middle School in Portland, Oregon. Throughout his career he has stayed active as a saxophonist, performing with the Utah Jazz Band, Bry Kent Big Band, Salt Lake Symphonic Winds, Southwest Washington Wind Symphony, and in various musical theater productions. He has attended saxophone workshops by such artists as Branford Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Dick Oates, and Dr. Ray Smith.
