Josiah Barber appears many times in records and genealogical sources. Unfortunately, there is still some disagreement about his the date of his death, based on a discrepancy between these sources. If the will was indeed proved 6 JAN 1729/30, then the above date is incorrect.
The will mentions his second wife and how she kept the property of her first husband from him: "For she disposed of the same unbeknown to me," but Josiah left her "a feather-bed, a mare and a cowe to be her own forever and one year's provisions," besides a fair share of his estate.
Savage says the following: "JOSIAH, Simsbury, m. 22 Nov. 1677, Abigail, d. of Nathaniel Loomis, had Abigail b. 12 Mar. 1679."
