Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars

Norton vs Hung
The exact plot of the film is (like its predecessor) rather murky, but starts with the lucky stars on holiday, still chasing women. Elsewhere, a police informant is assassinated, but not before he has sent a letter to a female friend. Thinking the letter may have incriminating information, the bad guys are after her so she is put under police protection - which turns out to be the lucky stars(?). They spend the rest of the film in the same house trying to undress/kiss her.

Meanwhile, Muscles (Jackie) and his partner have been given the job of protecting a criminal boss. He gives them the slip at just the wrong time as the same assassins from the start of the film turn up to kill him. When they realise what's happened, Jackie and his partner give chase leading to a pretty good scene with Richard Norton. After being chewed out by their boss, they are assigned to the case that Yuen Biao and Sibelle Yu (reprising their roles as Ricky and Inspector Woo from My Lucky Stars) are working on. They are pretending to be the occupants of the apartment that the dead informant's letter was addressed to. The real owner of the apartmen is the woman the lucky stars spend the film bothering.

Eventually, by [ahem] sheer chance, the lucky stars end up in the building opposite the flat where the woman lives. Then the bad guys and Muscles arrive and all hell breaks loose.

The similarity of the title of Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars to its predecessor My Lucky Stars, is the first clue that it's more of the same. As before, there almost seems to be two films at work - a Jackie Chan cop film and a Samo Hung (et al.) slapstick comedy. Yet again sold as a Jackie Chan film, he doesn't make an appearance until well into the film, although he does so in an excellent scene.

Despite the huge similarities, this is probably slightly better than My Lucky Stars and when the action scenes come they're suitably impressive. There's also an appearance by Michelle Yeoh (Supercop, Tomorrow never dies), but looking very different to how she does these days.
