Sent in by: Andrea Jones in October of 2000. Kevin is a defensive tackle for Missouri Southern State University. He is from Ganado, AZ and played football at Mesa Community College. A li'l quick info, but more is available at the school's football webpage located here Sent in by: Teresa Dorsett on Oct. 26, '99. I have some info on Redlands Community College. It's located in El Reno, Oklahoma, about 30 miles west of Oklahoma City. They have 5 Indian boys on the team. Their coach is also Indian. I don't think they are going to win any championships or anything, but I think it's kind of neat to have that many skins on one team. Their coach's name is Melvin Imotichey. Sent in by: 902 on Dec. 2nd, '99 We have a pretty good high school (basketball) team here in Pawnee too...We were State runners up last yr. 4 of 5 starters were Pawnee boys. and 6th man was too....we got one of the top blue chip boys in the state here in Pawnee....His name is Pat Moore jr. 6'9 and only a junior...If you get a chance, you might check on him for a future story. Leeann Montes, Rocky Boy Indian Reservation and MVP of Girls State Class 'C' Tournament for Box Elder High School in 1998, is a member of the team for this season. Along with Ms. Schildt, this makes two Native American players on one Division I basketball team. Is it the first time this has happened? And with a quality program. It's quite a large step for our people. This is some info already mentioned in the ESPN Section, but you'd probably have to search to find it. I'll just put something for Leeann here also. |
