The X-Files Drinking Game
To be played while watching the show, using whatever beverage you prefer.

This is one of many versions of this game that I have seen "out there." They're all about the same, anyway.


1 sip

  • Have a sip when the show begins--it's that cool.
  • Any time writing appears on screen, as in scene changes
  • Mulder or Scully shows his or her badge.
  • Mulder or Scully fires his or her gun.
  • Mulder or Scully uses his or her cell phone.
  • Mulder or Scully smiles.
  • Mulder or Scully asks "Where are you?" over the phone.
  • Scully says, "Mulder, it's me."
  • Any main character is shown in a hospital bed.
  • Anyone says anything about a conspiracy theory.
  • 1013 or any other sequence adding up to 5 shows up.
  • A mutant/alien/monster kills someone.
  • The first time you see Mulder's "I Want To Believe" poster.
  • Echo of the opening music is played.
  • A computer does something computers can't do.
  • Skinner appears.
  • Mulder or Scully uses a flashlight that is so bright it must take a car battery to operate it.
  • Anytime the agents are in a dark place that they obviously shouldn't be.
  • Cancer Man appears.
  • Someone gets stung by a bee.
  • Scully rolls her eyes.
  • Scully is seen in her scrubs.
  • Scully has to tell someone that she's a doctor.
  • Scully says "I'm fine, Mulder" (or its equivalent).
  • Scully says "Mulder!" "Mulder?" or "(gasp) Mulder?!"
  • Mulder eats sunflower seeds.
  • Mulder contacts Deep Throat / Mr X / Marita / a Senator.
  • Mulder makes a sexually suggestive remark to something Scully says or does.

    • 2 sips

  • Anytime the tagline, "The Truth Is Out There" changes.
  • A reference is made to Mulder's porno obsession.
  • We see Samantha (or a clone!).
  • We see an "alien" in a body bag.
  • Someone dies an extremely gory death.
  • Someone gets handcuffed.
  • Mulder loses his gun.
  • Mulder does a voice over.
  • Mulder goes into a dark place alone.
  • Mulder gets squeamish.
  • Mulder is sought out by one of his allies.
  • Scully tucks her hair behind her ears.
  • Scully enters Mulder's apartment when he's not there.
  • Scully drives.
  • Scully gets whacked into a wall or otherwise knocked unconscious.
  • Mulder or Scully kills someone.
  • Mulder or Scully appears in anything but a suit (Scully's scrubs don't count).
  • Mulder or Scully launches into an awkward sounding explanation of some historical/scientific fact/principal.
  • Skinner gets the crap beaten out of him.
  • Krycek gets the crap beaten out of him.

    • 3 sips

  • An important person dies.
  • Anytime you see a Lone Gunman outside his "office."
  • Mulder or Scully gets kidnapped.
  • Mulder or Scully goes into quarantine.
  • Mulder or Scully goes on a date (with someone else, not each other!).
  • Mulder or Scully is seen wearing glasses.
  • Mulder or Scully is called Fox or Dana, respectively (not by their families).
  • You see Mulder or Scully's dreams.
  • Mulder or Scully is put in jail.
  • The Cancer Man smokes in front of a "No Smoking" sign.
  • Scully leaves/enters a room just before/after something inexplicable happens.
  • Scully ends up saving Mulder's butt instead of vice versa.

    • 4 sips

  • Mulder or Scully is seen in a swimsuit.
  • Mulder loses his temper.
  • Scully agrees with Mulder's case theory.
  • Mulder's fishtank is shown and it actually has fish in it.
  • An alien appears (a REAL one, not a fake!).

    • 5 sips

  • A spacecraft appears.
  • Scully goes into a dark place alone.

    • Events Requiring Special Action

    As in, chug whatever you have.

  • Mulder and Scully get romantic.
  • Ending of episode is totally closed with no unanswered questions and the alien turns out to be a guy in a mask who is haunting the house to lower its property values. At the end, Shaggy and Scooby Doo help crack the case.
