Kent C. Withers Family Crisis Center

...provides shelter and counseling
to women and children in crisis due to domestic violence.

PURPOSE

The Center provides:

  • Shelter with 24-hour per day staff supervision and case management

  • Crisis intervention

  • Individual, group, and family counseling

  • Play therapy for children

  • Short and long-range planning

  • Referrals to legal, medical, housing, education, career, and training resources

  • 24-hour crisis line

  • On-site medical care

  • Support groups

  • Safety planning

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Priority is given ti Knox county and East Tennessee; however, participants may be from any geographical area Children must be accompanied by a parent. Females that are 18 years or older (or emancipated youth), with or without children, can be served. Referral from another agency is not necessary.

 

FEES

There is no fee for eligible clients. This program is funded by the State of Tennessee, United Way of greater Knoxville, the Jewish Federation, Knoxville and Knox County governments, and private donations from individuals, organizations, and foundations.

Participants can be from any geographical area.
