Chapter thirty one

Mercy had pulled away first, noticing her brother and Taylor's two brothers standing in the doorway, gawking at the sight of them, on the sofa, well, kissing.

She looked at the wall behind the sofa, and Taylor had averted his eyes to her hands, sitting close to his.

"I don't want to know."

Dorin led the way to the kitchen, where, the other two automatically followed.

Zac beamed. He he he he he. Okay, so maybe he and han hadn't played the biggest role, but at least they could think they did.

Mercy quietly smiled, following Taylor, who, had started chuckling, first quietly, until she head to hold a finger over his mouth so he wouldn't continue.

Looking into his blue eyes, she broke out in laughter.

He whispered to her.

"What are we supposed to do now?"

Shrugging her shoulders, she sighed. Trying to stop the giggles from shaking her stomach.

"Who are you calling?"

"No one."

Zac innocently looked up at his oldest brother.

"Yeah right, who are you calling."

"Zac."

"Why."

"Cause, I'm bored."

"You lie."

Zac smiled.

"So!"

Dorin folded his arms in front of him. Not causing zac to put down the phone.

Cocking his head as Zac held the reciever to his ear.

"Hey Han. You'll never believe it."

There was a pause.

Laughing out loud, Zac almost tripped over his feet.

"No! Better then that!"

Another pause.

"Mercy and Taylor...sittin in a tree....K-I-S-S-I-N-G...."

Zac roared in laughter, not paying attention to the two on lookers.

"Kay, see you then."

Zac hung up the phone, his face red from action.

"So Zac."

Isaac watched the youngest Dentra keenly.

Whipping out a crooked smile, Zac giggled.

"Yeahhhhh?"

Not responding Isaac lept from his chair, pushing Zac to the floor.

"HEY!"

Dorin lept around the counter, sitting on Zac's back, flattening him out and letting isaac have first tickling dibs.

Taylor had leaned back on the sofa. Mercy not feeling exactly where to go, just stayed sitting up.

Zac walked into the living room, swishing his now, shoulder length blond hair around, and humming Do be do be dooooo.

Grinning at mercy when taylor wasn't looking, he flopped down on the carpet in front of the television.

"Clicker please!"

Taylor, feeling somewhat cantankerous, picked it up and tossed it, hitting zac squarly in the back.

Turning over and smiling at Taylor, Zac stuck out his tongue.

"I never said you had to stop playing tonsil hockey just because I'm here now did I?"

Taylor started up, Mercy grabbing his shirt and pulling him back down.

Zac ran up the stairs laughing all the way up.

Dorin walked into the living room. Isaac following behind.

"So!"

He swung his arms together, clapping his hands.

Taylor looked at Dorin, just like he would have looked at Dorin if he had been Mercy's really angry dad.

Letting a small, forced smile spread on his face, he looked back at Dorin.

"So?"

Shrugging his shoulders, Taylor sighed.

"Comere Taylor."

Taylor's eyes could be heard popping out of their sockets.

Slowly standing up, waiting for some horrible punishment, he winced.

"Mercy...."

She put on a scowl.

"As long as you don't hurt him, I sorta like him the way he is."

Raising one eyebrow, she left, heading up to her room.

"Taylor! My buddy, my pal!"

Taylor frowned.

"I have to admit, you have some, some, some charm thing about you."

Feeling butterflies in his stomach, Taylor winced again.

"You know, I have reason to believe you were playing a game of truth or dare on the sofa there."

Isaac laughed.

"Because Mey didn't really like you."

Okay, Taylor was thinking he was going to die, Dorin's face was much too close to his and he didn't think running was a good idea.

Belting out in his strongest voice, he cracked. Damn! OF course this bad stuff happened when you needed it not!

"So what are you gonna do?"

Dorin luaghed, patting Taylor on the shoulder.

"Nothing. But I swear kid..."

Taylor held up his hand. Somewhat relieved that Dorin had nothing but sure amusement at the idea.

"If you end up like Eric."

Shaking his head at Taylor, Dorin pointed his finger.

"Oh yeah door, that sounds like me doesn't it...'Here taylor! Let me kick your own ass!'"

Isaac laughed at his brothers comment.

"Ike! Shut up man!"

Slugging his brother on the shoulder, and soon regretting it as Isaac chased him around the house til he got him down and began twisting his lanky body into poses they should not go into.

Mercy walked down the stairs.

"Don't get blood on the carpet."

Sunday became a laze around day. Zac was due to head over to the hansons later that day, Taylor spent the night with Jeremy in his room, and Isaac slept on the sofa the night before.

At ten in the morning, on a sunday, you were lucky to have one of the Dentras up and about, this day being no different.

Dorin was the first to slid out of bed, slowly fumbling down the steps in his clothes from the day before.

Seeing Isaac on the sofa, was to irresistably good.

Walking into the kitchen, and grabbing a glass from the cupboard, he filled it with cold tap water.

Standing next to his friend, he let pour, and sat watching Isaac sputter and yell.

"Thanks alot there Door!"

Swinging out in a playful punch, he missed, wipping off his face again to see what he was doing.

"What are you two doing?"

Mercy stood at the foot of the steps, watching the two 18 year olds horse around.

"Nothing!"

They sat up, innocently.

Rolling her eyes, she stepped to the kitchen.

"I think she's cranky with us."

Isaac added on to Dorin's statement.

"Bad us for walking in."

Laughing to themselves, they stood, walking to the kitchen.

"What are you doing today?"

She glared at her brother.

"Shopping for school clothes."

"In this weather? Besides, it's sunday, everything is closed."

She sighed.

"Fine, I'll stay home, sit on my ass, and do nothing."

Dorin smiled. Sad sad Mercy.

"We're going downtown to see chris and Josh later, wanna come?"

The thought of the hanson's manager, and their manager combined did not make Mercy feel like going, chris was weird enough without the help of josh, who, still had much to learn in the ways of music.

"No, I'll stay."

They shrugged at her.

"We leave in an hour."

"Probably before an hour though."

Mercy sighed. Thank god already!

"Bout time you two got up."

Taylor rubbed his eyes behind Jeremy, the two, still groggely trying to get awake.

"Shut up mey, we stayed up late."

"WHAT!"

Yelling it at them as she spoke.

"Thank you Mercy."

Taylor squinted his eyes at her.

She frowned.

"Jem! What are you doing today?"

"Goin' back to the old AP, gonna hang out with nikki for a while."

She wondered just what they did all day, they couldn't possibly do constructive things while he was there.

"Can I come with! I wanna see Lissa!"

"No! Take your own damn car!"

She scowled to herself. Jeremy could be such an asshole.

"When are you going then?"

Walking through the living room to the door, Jeremy had a piece of toast in his mouth, and he was impatiently pulling his blond tangles out of his face and into a pony tale.

"FIne then, see you later."

She leaned back as her older brother walked out of the house.

"Taylor! What are you doing today then?"

There was no response.

Taylor walked from the kitchen, peeling a banana.

Grabbing the tv remote on the way through, he flumped down next to Mercy.

"Nothin'. Wanna hang out with my cool self?"

She slugged him in the stomach.

"Your geeky self you mean."

He smiled. People never did change did they.

Turning on the television, and surfing through the endless channels, he stopped on Mtv.

Mercy turned to him.

"So Taylor."

He blinked, his mouth full of fruit.

"Wanna start back up where we left off?"

He laughed, not being able to help it, she just, sort of, enlightened the mood.

Shrugging he mumbled.

"Swallow the damn banana you oaf!"

Putting the rest of the uneaten banana on the coffee table, he swallowed, still sitting back.

He looked at her.

His mom had told him once that a person's facial expressions were almost everything. You could say more then a thousand words with them. She also said that someones eyes were their greatest seducers.

Hell yeah!

He didn't know why he just now noticed, but mercy had the greenest, most brilliant eyes he'd seen. Or maybe his mind was just telling him to think that.

Nope. It was true.

She grabbed his hands.

"Mey, don't you think we shou..."

She was quick...wow...yup...she was quick.

"OH SHIT!"

He said it loud enough for maybe his room to hear it.

He was late. He was supposed to be to Han's house a half hour ago.

He would have called! Why didn't someone wake him up?

Zac jumped out of bed, pulling on a pair of jeans.

Grabbing a shirt and pulling open the door, racing downstairs and being caught up in that same seen from last night.

"Pardon me, but just hold that thought for...oh say 2 minutes while I race out the door...then have at it.

Mercy jumped. Oops, zac had still been there...big hit to the plan.

Blushing furiously, Taylor had already paused, sighing.

"GOOD BYE ZAC!"

Racing out the door, he slammed it, then coming back for his skateboard.

Taylor chuckled.

"We must get this schedule down."
