Alyson Hannigan

Aly

Alyson Hannigan is the actress who brought Willow Rosenberg to life on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Alyson was born in Washinton, DC on March 24, 1974. Though Aly was born in DC she gre up in Atlanta, Georgia with her photographer parents, who often used Aly in their picture themes. It was Aly's mother who first asked Aly, at the age of four, if she wanted to do commercials. The out-going Aly answered with an enegetic "yeah", and off she went.

Aly did commercials for companies like Oreos and Six Flags.

Since then she has guest starred in shows such as Picket Fences, Touched by an Angel, Almost Home, The Torkelsons, and Roseanne.

Aly's big break came in 1988 when got a role on the Dan Ackroyd film My Stepmother Is an Alien in which she also starred with Seth Green.

Aly's agent told her about the role of Willow, describing her as a shy quier girl who still wear dresses that her mother picked out for her. And, at first, Aly couldn't even get an audition! The role had already been given to another actress, who filmed the show that was given to the WB to see if they were interested in buying it. After the series was picked up, the old actress was dropped, and Aly got her interview. She nailed the role.

By the time filming started the rest of the cast members had already gotten to know one another, so Aly felt sort of out of place. But the friendlyness of her co-stars soon kicked in, and Aly felt right at home after a while.

You can now see Aly on video in last years Dead Man On Campus were Aly plays the slightly shy, but hilarious Lucy. Also, this past summer Aly starred in American Pie. You can expect to see her more often now, she's a big star you know.
