Kay Culbert was born February 10, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan and we were saddened at her untimely passing at the start of this new millenium in February 2000. Her spirit will live on in the souls of all true traditional country artists who pioneered the traditional sounds here in Michigan! Kay's childhood idols
were Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. Like Nora Barnes, Kay Culbert was a country music fan
club promoter, and she started a monthly newsletter called "Michigan Country News".
Both Kay and Nora were early supporters of the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame.
She became a member of the Hall of Fame on October 13, 1974
Kay Culbert has been featured on a MICHIGAN MAGAZINE Television segment. Visit their site for more information.
