EGYPT

I travelled to Egypt at the end of April 1994 with 4 friends from Saudi (Karen, Sarah, Colin and Conan) meeting up with another from Ireland (Rene). We stayed at and dived with OONAS DIVERS, in NAMA BAY and in general did only 2 boat dives per day, returning to base only to get totally wrecked on crappy Egyptian Beer (Stella) every night, so we never ever got round to doing that night dive in NAMA BAY.

The diving was bloody good, especially RAS MOHAMMED. However what we were not prepared for was the rather cool water temperatures (23 C) as the water back in Jeddah when we left was 29 C. 5 mm wetsuits were rented after our first dive in NAMA BAY.

Visability was spectacular, generally between 20 to 30 metres, and sea conditions generally calm.
