"Survivor Review" is a private fan site and is no way affiliated with CBS or Mark Burnett Productions.  Many of the pictures and graphics are taken from the official CBS "Survivor: Pearl Islands" website, as well as other sites, such as "CBS Early Show".  This site's intent is not to infringe on any copyrighted or trademarked material, only to review and speculate on a TV series which has captured our imaginations.

Day 16 began peaceful enough.  At Mogo Mogo, Shii Ann and Jerri
were concerned about the previous night's Tribal Council, where they
all voted off Richard Hatch.  Jerri says that it was a mad scramble at
the end, with a decision only being made as they gathered their be-
longings and torches to make the trek to TC.  Kathy was the swing
vote, and at the last moment, she decided to vote off Richard instead
of Colby.  Kathy explains to her gal-pals while bathing off-shore that
her reasoning was that if they did boot Colby, they (she) would have
problems with Lex.  Shii Ann and Jerri seem unconvinced with her
explanation.  Shii Ann remarks that Kathy is now the most powerful
player on the tribe.

Over at Chapera, Rupert makes a spear and goes fishing.  Up until
this point (pardon the pun) the only protein they've had on a regular
basis has been the snails that Sue gathers.  She is miffed that the
rest of the gang have gotten friendly with the big lug.  Tom expresses
his initial fears about Rupert, but now has settled in and likes Rupert.
Rob only cares about himself.  As long as Rupert can feed Rob, the
Rob-Father will keep the gentle giant around.  Of course, Rupert bags
some fish, and everyone, except Sue, is happy.

Gender-based squabbling then sets in, first at Mogo Mogo, where Shii
Ann talks with Colby about his comments at TC about people skating
along.  Colby confirms that he was talking about her.  He doesn't like
those who try to fly under the radar.  If you're to play The Game, then
PLAY THE GAME, is his attitude.  Shii Ann thinks she's still his equal,
but doesn't pursue an argument.  Things at testy at Chapera during
dinner as they discuss who Mogo Mogo booted.  Some think that Jerri
or Ethan got the ax, Sue hopes Richard did.  She then complains
about Richard's taunt (or counter-taunt) and how his lower-parts had
rubbed against her.  She felt sexually violated by this.

Day 17 and Sue is now really bumming about what happened.  She
had gotten little sleep and the incident is on her mind continously.
Her sadness builds as the day goes on.  Alicia tries to talk with her,
but fails to help.  Rob and the rest then discuss the situation.  Is she
really depressed or is this some strategy?  Rob says they have to give
Sue the benefit of the doubt.  I have to say I'm impressed by this.
Rupert, who is a guidance counselor by profession and knows some-
thing about psychology, tries to talk with Sue, but by now, she is in
a deep funk.  Tom hopes she's going to walk.  "Stick a fork in her", he
quips.

At Mogo Mogo, Jerri drives everyone crazy with talk of food.  She lists
off all the goodies she is missing and desires.  At least she spares
the tribe of her many uses of chocolate.  Kathy is annoyed.   Thanks
to Jerri, Kathy now craves an ice cream sundae.  Lex has enough of
this and grabs the fishing spear.  He tells us that while Richard was
around, he didn't want to ruffle any feathers.  As it turns out, Lex is
very good at fishing.  He bags ten fish of various sizes and species.
Lex knows he just scored big points with the ladies.  Colby, on the
other hand, now is concerned.  He may be redundant very quickly.
Back at Chapera, Amber and Rob have a quiet pow-wow with Jenna
and Rupert.  At their previous Tribal Council, it was obvious to all that
Amber and Rob are a two-some, which now makes them targets.
They offer Jenna and Rupert a four-way alliance to the end.  The ex-
Sabogans agree, at least in public.  Privately, Rupert doesn't think he
can trust Rob.

Jerri and Lex go together to check tree-mail and find a bag of coffee
with the announcement of the impending Reward Challenge.  They
get excited at the prospects of a food-related reward.  Jerri uses this
opportunity to assure Lex that she likes him and will be loyal and
trustworthy.  Lex accepts her offer, but tells Uncle Cameraman that
he'll do whatever and use whoever to advance himself in The Game.
Rupert gets the tree-mail for Chapera and they all, except for Sue, are
excited about winning some food or spices.  But they are worried
about Sue, who is still sulking.

The tribes gather with Jeff for Reward Challenge.  As promised, it's
for food items.  But before they begin, Jeff points out that Richard
was booted by M-M.  Jeff, who knows all from seeing the daily rushes,
then brings up the incident from the Immunity Challenge.  Sue ex-
plodes into a rant about how she was violated and humiliated, and
how she is emotionally spent and done with The Game.  Jeff asks her
to clarify, does she want to walk now?  She says yes.  Mogo Mogo is
stunned.  They had no idea what had happened.  Shii Ann offers Sue
sympathy, Colby also makes an attempt but stumbles.  Jeff calls for
the boat and then walks Sue to it.  Sue is officially out.

Jeff returns and asks the remainder what they want to do.  He offers
to suspend reward and split the winnings amongst both tribes.  Or,
they can continue on as normal.  Jenna speaks up for splitting and
for reconciling divisions between Chapera and Mogo Mogo.  But M-M
will have none of that.  They're here to play and win it all for them-
selves.  The rest of Chapera abandon Jenna and agree to play.  The
challenge itself involves catapulting 6 food items into a large basket
eight feet atop a tower.  The winner gets all the items in their basket,
plus shish-kabob for seven of fillet mignon and lobster, along with
utensils for cooking.  Things start off even but Jenna has trouble and
Mogo Mogo goes on to win.

M-M returns to camp with their food and chows down.  They talk
about Sue leaving.  Shii Ann is more forgiving while Kathy thinks that
Sue is weak.  Back at Chapera, they sulk about the events of the day
around the campfire.  Rupert tells all how Sue talked with him about
how she was going to file a 10 million dollar lawsuit.  Rob tries to
rally Chapera for the next battle.  Day 18 arrives along with tree-mail.
There will be no Immunity Challenge.  Chapera feints a moment of
silence for Sue.  Then Rob starts singing, "Ding-dong, the witch is
gone", while Tom does his hillbilly jig.  Alicia is offended by this lack
of respect.

SPOILERS:  The ladies at Mogo Mogo get catty, looks like Jerri is the
target.  Lex and Shii Ann scheme.  At the Reward Challenge, Jeff
announces a new 'twist'.  Could they be merging into one tribe???
