Wie Ghets? Ich heisse Ryan!(How are you? My name is Ryan!) I enrolled this fall in a Beginning German class to refresh my understanding of the german language. This class will be pivotal on my journey to obtaining a BA in Professional Writing at Appalachian State University. At the end of this series of 4 classes, I should be able to find that internship which will flow seamlessly into that writing career I have always been looking for. That seam right now needs your mending. By donating to my cause today you'll be opening up a whole new realm of digital and printed wonders for me the rest of this semester. When it comes to correct grammar and pronunciation in German syntax vocabulary, I will be the man. During these 16 weeks we will be taking a rigid tour through the language and culture of German speaking countries. The required software goes right along with this course.
While entertaining us with stories aus Deutschland (Germany, the country) Freu Rechenbach expected us all to have the materials listed below:
-MyGermanLab accessCode ($74.80)
-German-English dictionary ($10 used)
-Treffpunkd Deutsch Textbook ($50 used)
I have enough for materials in other classes (Math, Com & of course English) by using book money coming from financial aid but to raise funds for the expensive code (this is the Rosetta Stone of German language apparently) only available new unlike the other books which are used or rentable. So, please donate to my PayPal account and help keep me in this class! It is essential and meaningful to my future as a well cultured student in the arts.
By the end of this semester I will be able to:
-Distinguish major accents (i.e. that of Oberbfalz from Hannover)
-Construct basic sentences using correct grammar and pronunciation
- Understand and respond to German speakers
-Read/write in German
-Make new and inspired friends with a common purpose!
Remember, Germany is not only the technological center of the universe, it is the home of some incredible people (new and old).
-Albert Einstein
-Richard Wagner
-Ludwig Von Beethoven
or for you modernists out there...
-Jürgen Prochnow
-Marlene Dietrich
-Kirsten Dunst
-Klaus J. Behrendt
-Armin Van Buuren (Dutch)
& the Liszt goes on.
