As I mentioned in my personal background, I had started programming back in late high school but I never really started game programming or design till I entered college. Before I had entered my University of choice, I had taken a few classes at my local community college on basic programming. The language used was PHP5. Though this language did not transfer to the university per say, they did nothing other then give me some basic programming logic knowledge to get me started.

When I started at DeVry university, I had started taking classes on basic programming in C++/C# all the way to game engine languages, most notably Unreal Script. With this knowledge I have created a multitude of programs in these languages. I have done programs that calculate and show the trajectory of projectiles, those that converts integers to specific bases and all of the game code I have done, notably my user interface classes. I have spent the better part of my college career making these programs but being someone interested in being in the User interface field of game design, I will be going into more detail on those.

I have spent the last half of my college career working on User interfaces, mostly start and pause screens as well as others. I have done most of this using the Unreal Development Kit and Adobe Flash CS5. Flash being the standard in user interface creation in the industry at the moment, that is what I started with. As stated before, this was mostly start and pause screens as most of my projects had no HUD to them or things such as tutorial pop-ups. My first title screen ended up like this:

I would say it was pretty decent for my first go. Though quite a few of the assets were pre-made by someone else, I did all of the coding work for it, which was pretty much all actionscript 2.0 with a little kismet involved.
