The Process
Day 1
The class will be
divided into groups of four to ensure everyone has access to a computer.
Spend the first day researching Louisiana. Find all of the listed
components, and include any other interesting facts that you find about
Louisiana as well. (Present information to the teacher before sharing with
class.)
Days 2-3
Once all research has been
completed, the groups will be assigned three various choices in which to present
the material. The groups will then be given three choices on how to present
the information researched. One possibility is to perform a skit, telling
of Louisiana's facts and why they believe it would be fun to visit.
Another idea is to compile a PowerPoint presentation on Louisiana and include
all of the information about Louisiana on the slides. Another idea is to
compile a handmade brochure on Louisiana, with all of the information that the
students learned about the state. If the students have any other ideas on
how to present the information to the class, they are welcome to discuss the
idea with the teacher before the assignments are complete.
Day 4
Students will
begin presenting their brochures to the class. They are to pretend that
the audience is a group that is not from Louisiana. Their job is to
present the brochure in a way that entices the audience to visit
Louisiana.
