Slow and Steady Does Not Pay

There have been reports on the TV and online that the Feds are hell bent on getting the electric cigarette under regulation. That seems like a good idea at first but there is a flaw in the ultimate plan. It can all be illustrated by the following example we all know how the service is at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles), slow and annoying. And what do the FDA and the DMV have in common, they are all federal entities and speed in working is not really their forte it took me 4 hrs to get my tags for my car.

This means the main reason I feel the why the fed is always at loggerheads with the e cigarette industry. Those boys are fast at rolling out now features and products. They are to the e cigarette what the Iphone is to cell phones. In order for the fed to be up and running at par with the e cig manufacturers they have to be speaking the same language. I guess this means making sure that their law making system is faster and more up to date, because what they are doing is like writing laws for typewriters in the digital age.

We all need a means and a solution to make this a reality and we cannot allow this rabbit and tortoise race to continue. After all it is not like we can tell the best e cigarette market to be slower so that the feds can play catch up, that decision simply does not make sense.

Anyway let’s hope that the FDA does not become so bogged with bureaucracy that they beat the DMV at their own game that would not be cool.

It’s time for the feds to wake up and smell the coffee.
