Using my knowledge of the Early Years learner, stages of development and play, and Kindergarten curriculum expectations I have developed a cross-curricular integrated unit of learning stemming from an Overall Expectation in the ELK Program (2010). The Unit addresses specific expectations from the 6 Learning Areas which support the development of Overall Expectation through intentionally planned, real-life experiences and learning materials introduced at Learning Centres, as well as through focused whole group and small group experiences. This unit is designed to enhance the holistic development of the Early Years learner.
