The hipster's paradise of the planet is home to numerous fascinating culinary attempts. Now it is also home to some elaborate donut lover's wish come true. Behold, the Golden Cristal Ube donut from eatery Manila Social Club:

Made with an ube (or purple yam) foundation, the sensational-looking donut is topped with Cristal Champagne icing and stuffed with Champagne jelly and ube mousse. It's then, obviously, covered in 24-karat gold.

The donut can be obtained to purchase -- to get a whopping $100 each.

"I take pride in this, and also to me its a piece of artwork," he said.

Maybe that is why New Yorkers are purportedly ordering them by the dozen. Or maybe they are only opulent New Yorkers. Either manner.
