An experienced removal company in Birmingham has predicted that 2016 will be another difficult year for removals companies as average property prices rise again.

Recent statistics from Rightmove suggests that average property prices have again risen this year by £20,000 on the previous year therefore again showing the imbalance between housing supply and demand.

The knock on effect is that removals companies will once again be one of the industries to suffer from a static market.

‘Where once clients were moving up the property ladder now customers are moving through necessity. Mortgages are harder to come by, redundancies and job relocation mean homeowners have no choice but to move, making moving home due to their circumstances out of their control on the increase,’ says Bernadette Dale who has over 20 years of experience in running a removals company in Birmingham.

As well as this, ‘buy to let properties and second homes are now only a pipe dream, made worse by the additional stamp duty rates being imposed from April 2016.’

The only positive that may be around the corner for removals companies in Birmingham is that with this increase in stamp duty on buy to let properties a short burst in home moving may occur.
