This mantle clock was made by Urgos sometime in the 1920's
for the British market. I bought this one from a friend and was initially
shipped out fully restored. It has a fine polished case in a somewhat different
variation of the classic "Tambour" case.
On arrival, one of the chime rods was badly bent so I
carefully bent it the opposite way so it doesn't clatter against the other
rods. The movement was also knocked out of place, but this has long since been
sorted out. It plays Westminster or Whittington chimes and has a silencer.
