When your out searching for new flooring, don’t be hasty. We seriously recommend giving thought to the room where your new flooring will go. Think about the lifestyle you lead and the style of interior you have – traditional, casual, contemporary or eclectic. Think about the colour, look, surface texture, gloss level and format – whether it’s tile, plank or vinyl sheet. Here’s also a almost completely overlooked aspect to good flooring - what lighting can do for it?
Lighting is Important
At Ashley Floor Ltd we talk about lighting so much because of the options you have, and floors will take different qualities dependent on your light source. Your options may vary from simple daylight to a cool white or a warm fluorescent bulb, or something in-between. To find out how your new flooring will look, We recommend getting some samples from your flooring store and viewing them under the different lighting conditions in your room at different times of day-and-night. If you have a “rough and tumble” household, you might want to consider a hand-planed hardwood floor with a strong surface texture or a vinyl floor with stone-like texturing.
