Characters:
- Romeo- sixteen years old; son of Montague and Lady Montague. Falls madly in love with Juliet.
- Juliet- thirteen years old;daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet. Falls in love with Romeo, the son of her family's enemy.
- Friar Lawrence- priest;friend to both Romeo and Juliet. Secretly marries Romeo & Juliet. Likes to make potions.
- Mercutio- kinsman to the Prince and a close friend to Romeo.
- The Nurse- nursed Juliet from when she was a baby. She always wants the best for Juliet.
- Tybalt- Juliet's cousin on her mother's side; hates Montagues. Always looking for trouble.
- Capulet- father of Juliet; wants the best for his daughter, so he wants her to marry Paris
-Lady Capulet- Juliet's mother. Married young; relys on The Nurse for everything.
- Montague- Romeo's father; wants no trouble between his family and the Capulets.
- Lady Montague- Romeo's mother; Montague's wife.
- Paris- kinsman of the prince; wants to marry Juliet.
- Benvolio- Montague's nephew; Romeo's cousin and friend. Trys to help Romeo as best as he can.
- Prince Escalus- prince of Verona; kinsman Paris & Mercutio.
- Friar John- charged by Friar Lawrence for taking false death of Juliet to Romeo.
- Balthasar- Romeo's servant; brings the news to Romeo about Juliet's death.
- Sampson & Gregory- two servants for the Capulet's house.
- Abram- Montague's servant.
- The Apothecary- sells poison to people. Sold poison to Romeo.
- Peter- Capulet servant.
- Rosaline- the person Romeo is only in love with for a little while.
Acts:
Act I
The Montagues and The Capulets are fighting because they hate each other. Romeo is in love with Rosaline. He wants to do anything to be with her. Benvolio tries to tell him that there are plenty of other fish in the sea besides just Rosaline. They go to a Capulet's feast that night, so Benvolio can prove there are more women then Rosaline. Romeo sees Rosaline there, but then sees Juliet and falls in love with Juliet. Tybalt, Juliet's cousin sees Romeo and knows he's a Montague. He wants to fight him there, but Capulet will not let him. Capulet talk to Paris and asks him what does he think of Juliet. Capulet want Juliet to marry Pairs.
Act II
Romeo goes to Juliet's balcony and tells her his love. They decide to get married the next day. Juliet tells Romeo that she will send her Nurse to him, and she will tell Romeo the plans for the wedding. They spend all night together and then Romeo leaves, when morning comes. Romeo goes to Friar Laurence and asks him to marry him & Juliet. Friar Laurence thinks its a good idea and hopefully it would bring the two families together. Romeo & Juliet get married.
Act III
Mercutio is looking for a fight and Benvolio doesn't want to fight. Tybalt and the Capulets show up where Benvolio and Mercutio are. Tybalt and Mercutio start to argue, but Benvolio trys to break it up. Tybalt calls Romeo a villian and wants to fight Romeo. Romeo doesn't want to because he is now related to him. Tybalt doesn't know that though. Tybalt kills Mercutio and Romeo gets mad. He then kills Tybalt. Romeo is punished by being banished from the town. Juliet finds out that Romeo killed her cousin and that Romeo has to leave town. She is upset and starts to cry. Her parents thinks she is upset for Tybalts death and decideds to bump up the wedding date.
Act IV
Paris goes to Friar Laurence and asks him to marry him and Juliet. But Friar Laurence does not want to, becuase he thinks its too soon. Juliet goes to Friar and ask if there is anything she can do, because she doesn't want to get married to Paris. Friar gives Juliet a potion that will make her sleep for 24 hours. She would need to drink it, when she goes to bed then when her parents go and check on her in the morning they will think she is dead. Friar will go tell Romeo the plan.
Act V
Romeo doesn't hear about the plan and when his servant Balthasar goes to the church, he sees Juliet in her tomb. He goes back and tells Romeo and Romeo decides to be with juliet. He goes to The Apothecary and asks for posion. He goes to the church and says his goodbye to Juliet and starts to drink the poison. He didn't realize that Juliet was starting to wake-up and when he did realize he already took the posion. Juliet took his dagger and killed herself to be with Romeo forever.
