How to unlock a Blackberry phone

Blackberry unlock codes allow you to use your Blackberry phone on almost any cell phone network. Using your Blackberry phone doesn't have to be costly when traveling out of the country or even when outside your cell phone carrier's network. Simply put a new SIM card in and you will be able to use a new network. Be sure that your network uses GSM technology, not CDMA or another technology. GSM phones take SIM cards but CDMA does not use a SIM card. Most network use GSM but in the United states Verizon wireless and US Cellular use CDMA phones. Next I'll tell you how to unlock your Blackberry phone.

The first step in the unlocking process is getting your IMEI number. You can get the IMEI number by pressing * # 0 6 # (star, pound, zero, pound) on your Blackberry's keypad. It should show you the IMEI number - write it down as you will need it again later. Alternatively, you can turn off the phone and remove the battery. The IMEI number should be on a white sticker behind the battery.

Next you need to get your unlock codes. This part is easy and you can ge unlock blackberry codes from many different websites. A link has been provided in the author box to get unlock codes from a well-known provider. When you have your unlock code, start up your phone and go to the options menu. Go to advanced options and select the SIM card option there. Next Hold the ALT Key while typing in MEPE (text will not appear when you type). Then it will say "Enter Network MEP Code" - type the code you were provided with in the last step and press in the trackball to confirm the code you've entered. Your phone should be unlocked now and able to be used on any network. Try taking a SIM card from another cell phone network and putting in your phone, then making a call to test it. Good luck and have fun with your unlocked Blackberry.
