Essentials for a Great Home Bars

If you like hosting parties or you enjoy entertaining guests at home, you might want to have a bar. A bar can go just about anywhere. It will only depend where you usually entertain your guests. It can be in the kitchen, in your office, library or it could even be outdoors.

Wherever you want to put your bar, just coordinate it with the room and have the things that you usually need when hosting guests. If you need some strategies to plan your bar, you are in the right place.

If your bar is in the kitchen or near the kitchen, it would be better to have a bar sink. It comes really useful. Whatever kind of sink you have, stainless or not, just make sure that it blends in your bar. Also, there are many kinds of faucet styles that you can choose from. You may just pick the one that fits your taste.

Of course, most bars, especially wet bars, need a refrigerator. It can be a beverage or wine fridge. Whichever you choose, just consider the size that will fit in the space of the room. If your fridge is not big enough to hold all your wines and other drinks, your counter top can be another option or you may have some built-in racks if you still have enough space. You can also have a wine rack. This is small, can easily be stored in cupboards and it goes with any design.

A bar will not be complete without glasses. Have a storage in your bar to keep them. If your storages are not enough, a stemglass holder will come in handy, plus, it will look glamorous on your bar. You can place them at the empty space below your storages where you can hang your glasses fashionably.

Guests usually come thirsty. You would not want to be hunting bottle openers when needed. A customizable drawer is your best option as you can place all your corkscrews, bottles stoppers, wine charms, etc. Having drawers will make you find them easily.

Decoration. Adding art to your bar will help you entertain your guest more. A home bar will not be as entertaining if you are surrounded by boring walls. Have paintings of wines or other bar related prints on the wall beside your bar cabinet. Just like the image above, “Antico Cantina, Vin San by Alan Blaustein”, (available at www.midwestart.com) it will go well on your bar as a wall decoration.
