FALSE RAPTURE

DISPELLING FALSE DOCTRINES

Posted on December 27, 2010

Lets first take a look at the rapture theory. Alot of churches believe that they are going to be raptured out of here before, in the middle, or after the tribulation. First of all, we are going to debunk the pre-trib, post-trib, and mid-trib theories.

Nowhere is there any basis, nor fundamental basis for this concept. Three times Christ refers to the end of days, and in all three accounts, makes the comment,

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.” Mat. 24:29

“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light.” Mr. 13:24

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:26-27

In all of these scriptures, Joshua makes no comment, or reference to a “rapture.” But what He does say, that all of His disciples will see these things come to pass, “after the tribulation.” What that clearly says is, that we will be around during the tribulation. Most “theologians” make the reference that the word “harpazo” refers to a Latin word which is “RAPIEMUR” which for one, destroys any and all theology. Let me explain. Taking the word harpazo, and translating to another language, then translating it back into the English, corrupts the interpretation of said scripture. Let me explain. The word “hot” in the English, is “Caliente” in Spanish. In Spanish, this word translates as “hot, as in spicy, which the root word of Caliente is Picante.” So for me to translate “Caliente,” into Spanish, and back into English, would make this same word hot as in spicy. Not hot as in a summer heat, or a hot day. For one, the meaning of “Harpazo,” does not refer to a “catching away.” It refers to theft. If you are Christ’s disciple, He would have no rhyme or reason to “steal you away,” unless you are doing something against what He told you to do. For example:

“Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” Mr. 13:35-37

Christ obviously commanded us to watch for His return. So if we are watching for His return, then He would have no way, nor reason to “steal us away,” as theft refers to being sneaky, and doing things behind our backs. But most theologians, dont bother to tell you, that the same word “harpazo,” Christ mentions when speaking of the wolf who steals His sheep.

“But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them (harpazo), and scattereth the sheep.” John 10:12

So if the word “harpazo,” refers to a rapture, then Christ said right here that its the wolf that raptures His sheep, and not He Himself. Hello? Am I reaching anyone out there? The word harpazo, refers back to the root word, “haireomai” which means “to prefer:–choose.” Now we have two different instances in scripture where this word occurs with the same meaning. 1. The wolf “prefers” or “chooses” Christ’s sheep to corrupt, pervert, and promote into his kingdom. Hello? I have heard alot of ministers say, “I have been poor, and I’m not going back!” Thats someone that satan has attacked, and deceived. When have you ever heard of a man telling God what he’s not going to do, and getting away with it? He wont. 2. We see this in 1 Thess. 4:17, where Christ chooses His sheep, out from among the goats.

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught (preferred, or chosen) up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Now this scripture does not refer to a “catching away of God’s bride,” but a selection process. Pay particular attention to the word “clouds.” You will find this same word in 1 Cor. 10:1-2.

“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea.”

Paul states that the Cloud is a “Baptism.” The same word “cloud” used in 1 Thess. 4:17. So from this, we understand that there is no such thing as a “rapture,” but a baptism, where we “meet” God’s Elect in the “Baptism.” I want you to pay attention to this. This same “cloud,” we find in Luke 9:34-35.

“While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.”

Prior to this scripture, we see the three apostles meeting Moses, and Elijah (God’s Elect) in the Cloud. At this same baptism, we also see Joshua making a “transformation” into Christ. Hello? Are you still with me? None of the three apostles were “whisked off to heaven.” They were on the mount. The same mount that Christ said He would return to upon His descent. Are you following? As it is written,

“Ob 1:21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.”

“And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.” Zech. 14:4

I will leave you with one final thought. Christ when speaking to His disciples gave them (us) the parable of the tares and the wheat. Nowhere in that parable did He ever declare that at the time of the end will there ever be a rapture. What He did declare, is that the wicked will be raptured, and plucked off from the earth and destroyed. But the wheat (which is us) will be gathered together into His barn, which is coming to earth upon His return.

“And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Rev. 21:2

Nowhere did He say that we are going up to meet New Jerusalem on its way down. It is coming down to us. John again declares,

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” Rev. 5:10

We will be reigning here on the earth, not at any time in heaven.

When Christ returns, He will return to the mount at the last trump, where His elect will be gathered together, and we shall meet them on the mount. May the Christ of all Glory open your eyes to the truth. Amen.
