SPARC is a CAMS affiliated motor sport club and is dedicated to promoting, fostering and conducting the sport of automobile racing and motor sport in general. SPARC is also committed to promoting friendship and courtesy in and out of competition, between all members of the club.

SPARC is known for its sprint events, but in recent times more members of the club have been branching out and trying new disciplines. As a participant in the Interclub Challenge, SPARC members are able to compete in motorkhanas, autocrosse meets, khanacross events, hill climbs and navigational and special stage rallies to further their driving skills and meet other liked-minded people. Our members also attend events such as the Gatton Sprints, the Leyburn Sprints, MG Car Club Hill Climb Championship, the Qld and NSW Hill Climb Championships and the Qld Rally Championship and Clubman Championship rounds.

We have a large and varied membership of committed racing enthusiasts with expertise in many disciplines. Within our membership are several driver training instructors, two Precision Driving Team members, a professional racecar mechanic (who is the current Qld and NSW Hill Climb Champion) a former Qld and NSW State Karting Champion and a Qld State Champion Rally Driver. As well as an exciting cross section of members and skills, we regularly see a variety of cars ranging from big V8 brutes to BMWs, all kinds of rotaries, Honda Civics and CRX's, Escorts, Geminis, a Suzuki Swift and a Datsun 1600.

With this variety of vehicles and wishing to keep the events fair and competitive for everyone, we have just voted on an amendment to our current class structure which will come into operation in the new year. There are basically four classes, dividing the cars into over and under 2000cc, naturally aspirated, a competition class (slick tyres, stripped out interior, lightweight panels etc) and a rotary/forced induction class.
