Welcome to the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Reserve Activity.

This reserve unit drills and conducts training at NAS Brunswick, Maine. NMORA 1093 augments the Naval Atlantic Meteorology and Oceanography Center located in Norfolk, Virginia and subordinate METOC Commands in Jacksonville, Florida as well as NLMOD Brunswick, Maine

NMORA 1093 assists the active-duty METOC office by providing tactical support to P-3C squadrons based at NAS Brunswick. This support consists of tailored climatologic packages for pre-mission planning and real-time updates to meteorology and oceanography parameters during field exercises and operations.

Assigned weather forecasters maintain aviation briefer qualifications by providing preflight predictions to P-3C pilots. Junior AG rate personnel work towards watch qualifications using current weather prediction equipment and computer models.

Each year members of NMORA 1093 familiarize themselves with watch responsibilities at either the METOC Center in Norfolk, VA or METOC Facility in Jacksonville, FL. Opportunities are also available for professional course and fleet support.
