Bernie Brillstein

Bernie Brillstein, Jim Henson's longtime manager and career advisor, was a key figure in the selling of The Muppet Show.
"I first met Jim Henson in 1960. Burr Tillstrom had called me to meet with Jim when I was a young agent at the William Morris Agency. At this time, the last thing in the world I could understand or warted to understand were puppets of any sort.
"My office was on the twenty-sixth floor at William Morris. Jim walked in carrying a black box that contained the original Muppets. He looked like a young Abe Lincoln in some kind of leather, and spoke in a voice that was hardly audible. When he opened the black box, the magic began."
