Knowing God

HEAVEN COMES WITH GOD, NOT BEFORE GOD. Many only view salvation in the future tense. They see it mainly as escaping hell & going to heaven. This is a false conception of eternal life, and its consequences bring little, if any effect in the present life of those who adhere to it. If you'll turn to John 17:3 you'll find the Bible's definition of eternal life: that they may KNOW Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent.
This question came to me...What if the only glory in heaven is KNOWING GOD? Would the many who are expecting an overwhelming change bursting with bright lights & unimaginable mind-boggling sensations be disappointed if that's all there was to heaven - knowing God? Would the familiarity with the clamor and flashy appearances of this world cause them to be caught off guard when the transition of this life to the next occurred if all they had to look forward to was KNOWING GOD? I, for one, do not care how pearly the gates are, how sparkling the waters may be, or how much gold the streets are paved with- the sufficiency of my salvation is, and will be - knowing God.
