I woke up at eleven, which was fairly early for me. I snuck into the studio so I could practice for a little while without interuption. I sat down and started playing and singing random songs. I sang everything from Broadway by the GooGoo Dolls to Mandy Moore's Candy.
After about an hour and a half, I went to find everyone else. I finally found the girls lying on the beach.
"Hey guys!" I said cheerfully.
"Hey. Nice of you to wake up." Lindsay said.
"For your info I've been up since eleven, so don't give me crap."
"Woah. Someone's got PMS." Mandy joked.
"Ugh! I don't need to take this." i stormed off to the house and decided to take a walk. I walked off the private property and didn't stop until I reached town. Since I had just walked five miles, I was thirsty, so I went to Starbucks and ordered a mocha frapachino. I took my drink to a nearby park and sat cross-legged on one of the benches. I heard someone come up behind me but I didn't think much about it until he spoke.
"What's a pretty lady doing out here all alone?"
I was about to make a snide reply but I realized who it was and turned around.
"Brian?!"
"Laura? What are you doing here?"
"I got mad so I decided to go for a walk and ended up here."
"You walked five miles here?!"
"Yeah. I have legs like everyone else." I laughed.
"Oops. That came out wrong." Brian laughed. "Wanna come back to the studio with me? We were on break so I thought i'd go for a walk, but I saw you. I'm probably already late. Come on, you can come see your bf."
"We're not an official couple yet silly."
"Fine. You can come see your 'unofficial' boyfriend." he laughed.
I laughed with him. Brian and Nick were alike in so many ways. They both were funny, hott, sweet, and caring.
"Okay. I'm coming."
We walked to the studio and rode the elevator up to the floor they were on. We walked into the recording studio.
"Look who I found guys."
Everyone came over and gave me a hug. When Nick came up I leaned up and kissed him, and we didn't stop until a women came into the room and cleared her throat.
"Excuse me Nick. No offense, but we have to get back to work."
"Hi. I'm Mrs. McLean" she said to me.
"Hi. I'm Laura."I smiled. She looked so much like AJ. it was really cute.
The guys went back into the room while I slipped on Christina Aguilera's cd. AJ had let me listen to his cd player and he had been listening to that cd. I sat in the waiting room alone, singing to myself. I wasn't really paying attention to anything around me so I was startled when I felt Nick sat down beside me. I took the headphones off to find him blabbing on.
"Woah. Slow down. I haven't understood a word you said." I laughed.
"Oh my gosh. We heard you singing out here and came out as soon as I could."
"Oops. Sorry. I didn't realize I was singing so loud!" I blushed.
"No! It was great! You have a gorgeous voice. Have you ever thought of singing professionally?"
"Actually, I have. I'm working on a demo tape and I was planning on sending it in to some people."
"Well. Jive is looking for a new artist right now. and I'm sure that as soon as they hear you, you'd be hired!"
"You really think so?"
"I know so! I'll talk to Brian because he always has a way with management and I'm sure we can get them to hear you. Anywayz, I have to go back into the studio now, but we should be done fairly soon!" he kissed me and walked away.
I sat there stunned. Was I seriously getting the chance of my lifetime? Could my dream finally come true? I pinched myself to see whether I was awake, and sure enough I was still sitting there.
I picked up a Seventeen magazine and started looking throught it. I found an article on BSB. It was really funny to read, because the guys were being goofballs throughtout the entire interview.
About an hour later the guys came out and suggested that we have an early dinner. We found a cute little Mexican restaurant and snagged a table for eight in the back. AJ's mother and their mixer came with us too. I sat down between Nick and Brian and we immediately began talking about my future "stardom". We ordered and talked until the food came.
"I see both Laura and Nick have the same taste." Kevin said.
Without realizing it, Nick and I had ordered the same thing.
"This is what I always order." We both said at the same time, then laughed.
We had both ordered chicken quesidillas with extra sour cream on the side.
We ate, talking about the upcoming tour and other random things. We walked back to the studio to get everyone's cars. Nick drove me back to Lance's house. and when I was about to get out Nick pulled me back down.
"Will you go on a date with me tomorrow night? I haven't broughtyou anywhere just the two of us, and I'd really like to."
"Okay sweetie." I said. He kissed me and I got out and walked inside the house.
"Laura! You had us scared to death! We hadn't heard from you since this morning and we were about the call the police."
"Chill Lindsay. I went for a walk and Brian found me, so I went back to the studio with him. We went out to dinner when they were done, and Nick just dropped me off."
"K. Just call next time so we don't worry so much." Alison said.
"Okay. Where sis everyone?"
"They went to a club to see some band. All I know is that it was some slutty band who no one except for biker dudes have heard of. That's why Joey knew about them." Lindsay laughed.
"Guess what happened tonight?" I said excitedly.
"What? Nick asked you to be his gf?"
"Nope. Even better."
"What could be even better than that?"Lindsay asked.
"I was singing and all of a sudden Nick came out of the studio and said that everyone had heard me and that Jive was looking for a new singer and that I'd be perfect. Brian is going to talk to some people about hearing me and maybe giving me a record deal!"
"Wow! That's awesome!"Lindsay sqealed as she gave me a big hug.
"I know! My dream might actually come true!" I screamed with joy. "Well..I'm tired so I think I'll go to bed. See you guys in the morning!"
