Chapter 4
"Bri, can we please talk?" Kristy asked hopefully. She knew that he would, his curious mind always wanted to know why. He nodded and got up to go outside with her.
"B-Rok, I need to talk to you it is really important" Kevin interrupted trying to lure Brian away from her.
"Umm Kev, can't it wait?"
"No, I need to talk to you Now" he insisted. Brian looked at Kristy and she shook her head letting him know that she would wait. Brian followed Kevin into the kitchen and looked at him with a questioning face. "Brian, I over heard Kristy, AJ, and Pamela talking outside earlier and I thought you should know what she said".
"What'd she say?"
"She was telling them what she said to you on the way here and she said she never liked you and she only stayed friends with you because you are a Backstreet Boy, she said she was only true friend with AJ, Howie, Pam, and Nick" Kevin lied. Brian's no longer had a questioning face; it was now filled with rage. He ran back into the room containing Kristy, and the guys. "Kristy you back stabbing little...." he stopped and looked over to AJ "How could you keep something like that from me we were supposed to be one of my brothers." Brian screamed as Kevin silently snickered at his Victory.
Chapter 5
"Hold up B-Rok, What are you talking about?" AJ asked with a confused tone.
"Don't try to act like you never did anything, Kevin told me what you three talked about outside." Kevin's head shot up and he realized all eyes were on him.
"Uh, what exactly did he tell you?" AJ asked knowing it must have been a lie. "Because I thought what she told us was a good thing". Brian calmed down and looked at his cousin then at Kristy.
"I think you and K should talk bro." Nick finally jumped in.
"No, I don't think so, I don't have anything to say to her" Brian said and sadly began to walk out the door.
"Brian, I love you!!!!" Kristy cried out sorrowfully. He stopped in his tracks and turned around. "I don't know what Kevin told you but that is what I was talking to Pamela and AJ about, that is why I needed to talk to you, That is the reason I have pulled away from you lately.... I love you." Brian stood there silently, not moving at all, Thinking about every word that just came out of her lips. Her sweet lips that for so long he wanted to kiss. Then he thought of Kevin...betrayed by his own cousin. "I'm sorry Brian, I'll leave now." she cried harder. He looked into her eyes; the Sparkle was gone. He slowly walked over to Kevin and Swiftly connected his fist with Kevin's structured jaw. The blow caused Kevin to fall back against the wall and Nick to grab a hold of Brian before he could do it again.
Chapter 6
"I'm leaving, I'm really sorry AJ" Brian said and walked towards the door.
"That's ok Bro, just know I would never do anything like that to ya." He got up and hugged Brian and whispered in his ear. "Talk to her". Brian nodded and walked out the door, but tripped on something.
"What the he... Sparkle? What are you doing here?"
"Sorry Brian, I was going to leave, but I don't know where we are. If you tell me, I will start walking and leave you alone."
"You will do NO such thing" he said in a fatherly tone "You don't know what kind of Psychos are out here at night!!"
"It's not like you would care now." The tears once began to fall down her cheeks for the first time in front of Brian. He put his finger under her chin and raised her head so their eyes could meet.
"Did you mean what you said? Do you really love me?" he asked gazing into her eyes.
"With all my heart".
"Well then can I tell you a secret?" he asked quietly, she nodded. Brian leaned forward and gently kissed her on the lips. "I love you too". He pulled her into a tight embrace and kissed her neck. "Now what do you say we go back to your party?"
"Aww can't I just stay out here with you?" she begged.
"I'll be right there with you" he smiled, "plus you have the rest of my life to be with me". Brian stood up pulling Kristy with him and arm in arm they walked back into the house. AJ and Nick were playing a Playstation game, while Pamela sat watching them and Howie was talking on the phone. Kevin was sitting in the kitchen and his eyes got large when the two walked in together with smiles on their faces, 'Damn, this is going to be harder than I thought' he thought to himself.
"Ha, I beat you, who's the man?" AJ jumped up and did a little victory dance to celebrate his win over Nick.
"I'm the man and I could beat you any day" Brian announced causing the three of them to quickly spin around.
"So what was this I heard about a party for moi?" Kristy asked in mock selfishness.
"Party? What are you talking about? I don't know about any party" Howie said walking up behind her, she frowned and Brian nudged Howie. "Oh Party, I thought y'all said Marty, I don't know any one name Marty, but I do know about a party for a certain someone's 21st birthday". They all laughed at Howie and Pamela led Kristy over to a big chair and handed her a present.
"Girl I hope you like it, it is from Nick and I" she said laughingly, "I picked the stuff out, It cost Nicky boy a fortune". She carefully began to take the tape off each end of the gift.
"Just rip the damn paper already," Aj yelled, "I wanna know if what they got you is better than what I did." She tore the paper the rest of the way off and opened the box. Inside was a Silver Chain with a music note pendant and matching earrings, a black dress, shoes that went perfectly with the dress, and two tickets to both a Brian McNight concert and Dave Matthews Band concert.
"Wow, I can't take all this stuff."
"Yes you can, as long as you promise to have fun" Nick insisted.
"Thanks so much guys," she said giving the both hugs. The night continued similarly as she got her gifts from AJ and Howie. Finally after watching the whole scene Kevin slammed his fist on the table in the kitchen and left.
The next morning Kristy woke up and began her morningly exercise routine. As she was going out the door to go running she noticed a card addressed to Sparkle on the front porch. She opened the envelope and read the note it held.
"YOU HAD BETTER LEAVE NOW, I WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO SPLIT YOU TWO UP, EVEN IF IT MEANS SOME TYPE OF ACCIDENT HAPPENING TO BRIAN"
