A couple months went by. Andrew and I were still dating. It's almost been two months. I was packing my things up to move into the dorm, when I heard the doorbell ring. I walked downstairs to answer it.
"Hey Amanda," Brian said as I opened the door.
"Hey," I responded. I moved aside so he could walk in, then I closed the door behind him.
"I finished packin' my stuff, and I thought I'd see what you were up to?"
"I'm still packing."
"Need some help?"
"Sure." We walked upstairs to my room.
"So what can I do?" Brian asked.
"Hmm... can you hand me that box over there?" Brian handed me the box and I set it down on the bed. I was about to put some things in the box when the phone rang.
"Ugh! Can there be any more interruptions?" I said agrivated. I went over to the phone and picked it up.
"Hello?" I said.
"Hey baby, it's Andrew," responded the voice on the other line.
"Hey."
"Whatcha doin'?"
"Packing."
"Oh, well do you wanna come over tonight? I've got sort of a surprise for you."
"Sure, what time?"
"Around 7. And dress nice."
"Ok, I'll see ya then sweets."
"Ok, laters baby."
"Later." Then I hung up the phone.
"Was that Andrew?" Brian asked once I hung up the phone.
"Yeah. He says he's got a surprise for me."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah. I wonder what it could be."
"Don't ask me. How would I know?"
"I didn't say you would know."
"I know, I'm just playin' with you."
"Brian, I'm so excited about college," I said as I plopped down on my bed. "Has Kev decided about college yet? He's kinda cutting it close."
"Well actually, he told me earlier today, that he's gonna stay here and go to college."
"Really? Are you serious?" I said as I stood up.
"Yep." I went over to Brian and hugged him.
"Oh that's so great! Now I get to go through college with my three favorite guys."
"Three?"
"Yeah. You, Kev, and Andrew."
"Oh, I forgot about him."
"Brian?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I tell you something? Seriously." I sat back down on the bed.
"Yeah, of course. You can tell me anything," Brian said as he sat down on the bed next to me.
"Brian." I paused. "I think I love him."
"Really? Are you that serious about him?"
"Yeah. I think I am."
"Well, I'm happy if you're happy."
"Thanks Brian. That means a lot to me."
"Well I think I should be going. You probably have to get ready to go over to Andrew's."
"Yeah, it's almost six."
"Later, toots." Brian left my room and went back home. I got ready to go over Andrew's. I wore my silky navy dress with a spaghetti straps. I put my hair up with curled strands hanging down. I was running late, so I hurried out to my car. But it wouldn't start.
"Great! Now what do I do?" I thought to myself. I got out of my car and went back inside the house. I called Brian.
"Hello?" said a voice on the other line.
"Hey, is Brian home?"
"No, he's not. Amanda?"
"Yeah?"
"It's Kevin. Is there anything I can do?"
"Yeah. My car won't start and I need to get over to Andrew's. Could you give me a ride?"
"Yeah, sure. I'll be over in a minute."
"Ok, thanks." Then I hung up the phone. A few seconds later, then doorbell rang. I went to go greet Kevin. We walked out to his car.
"Thanks so much, Kev," I said as we got in the car.
"No prob." Kevin started the car up and we were on our way. "Did Brian tell you?"
"Tell me about what?"
"About me staying here to finish up college."
"Yeah, he told me. I was actually looking forward to you leaving again though. You're kinda getting on my nerves."
"Hey!"
I just smiled back at him. "Well here we are. Thanks so much for the ride, Kev."
"If you need a ride home just call me, k?"
"Ok, thanks. But I think Andrew will just give me a ride home." I got out of the car and walked into the apartment building. I heard Kevin's car drive away. I went upstairs to Andrew's apartment. I knocked on his apartment door. He opened the door. And I walked in. Andrew closed the door behind me.
"Where the hell have you been?!" Andrew yelled once the door was closed.
"My car wouldn't start. So I had Kevin give me a ride." Next thing I knew Andrew's hand was coming towards my face. He hit me and I fell to the floor.
