"Ok, Nick, can you hold the boat into the wind as I raise the main sail?" Terri asked Nick, putting on her sailing gloves.
"No problem." Nick replied, steering her head to wind. Terri climbed up on the upper deck where the mast was, faced the back of the boat, putting her hands on a two-handed crank, and raised the main. You could tell that what she was doing took a lot of strength because her muscles were like baseballs on her upper arms, and were being flexed as she raised the sail. She got it up, then pulled on the jib halyard (the line that brings out the small sail in the front).
"Ok, you all may go out on the deck and do whatever!" Terri told them with a smile. All ten of them stripped down to their bathing suits and walked the sidewalk way to the deck, except for Terri and AJ. "Hold on to the life lines as you walk guys!" Terri warned before heading into the cabin area to put a CD into the stereo system. AJ stayed in the cockpit until she came back.
"Doesn't one of us need to stay back here to steer?" AJ asked as Terri began to climb out of the cockpit to the walkway.
"Nope. It's on iron mike…AKA auto pilot." Terri replied as she walked. AJ was right, she wore a bikini…he didn't complain at all!
"Hey, how ya doing? I'm doing mighty fine…" Destiny's Child was heard from the stereo.
"Terri, this is awesome!" Lexi told her, sipping her wine cooler as she lay next to Nick on a towel.
"Yea, this is too good to be true, I'm waiting to wake up." Brian added, sitting by the edge of the boat, Becca was sitting between his legs and her feet were dangling over the side.
"I'm glad you like it!" She laughed, sitting down on the third level of the deck…The cat is a two hauled boat. In between the two hauls there are the cockpit and cabins. The cabins/kitchen took up ¾ of the inside of the boat. On top of the cockpit was a small fiberglass roof with two windows. The next level was a sitting level, though only two people could comfortably fit up there. The next level, where the mast was, could fit about four or five, including under the mast. The final level was the largest and could probably fit about ten. Terri climbed to the second level, where she could smell the air and feel the wind, not to mention watch the tell-tales on the main sail. AJ followed her up and perched beside her.
"This is gorgeous…" AJ sighed and put his arms around Terri from behind, resting his head on her shoulder.
"I'm glad you like it." Terri smiled, resting her hand on his arm, tracing his drama mask tattoo with her finger.
"It wouldn't be as nice without you." He whispered, kissing her neck softly.
"Nor without you." She replied.
"Hey Terri, there are a bunch of crab pots up here!" Nick called to her from the front.
"Thanks Nick, where?!" She called back, climbing down to go to the cockpit.
"To port, about ten or twelve degrees!" Nick called back.
"Stay where you all guys, I'm bringing in the main a little bit once we've stop heading off." Terri called out to everyone. All of a sudden the boom whipped around, knocking AJ off of the top level.
"What the hell happened?!" Kevin yelled out as he saw AJ hit the water.
"SHIT! The wind shifted just as we finished turning!" Terri yelled, "Nick get the hell back here!" Nick rushed back, "Here, do the MOB drill, I'm going in after him so you can find us and since I know what to do." Terri told him just before she dove in the water, after AJ.
"Guys, back here, quick!" Nick called to the others, so that they would be out of the way.
"AJ?!" Terri called out, not being able to find AJ. "AJ?!?!" She swam to where she thought they had been when he fell off. "AJ, where are you?" Terri called out, beginning to panic. She dove down into the water, searching for him, but not finding him.
"AJ?"
"Here! Over here!" Terri heard his voice. She looked around but didn't see him.
"Where?" Terri called back.
"Here! I have my hand up!" AJ called to her again. Terri looked around and did finally spot his arm in the air and swam to it.
"AJ, you scared the shit out of me!" Terri exclaimed as she reached him, putting her arm in the air for Nick as he neared.
"Sorry, I was really surprised and froze for a moment, I didn't even realize you were calling me." AJ replied.
"Guys, come over here!" Nick called to them, only ten feet or so away now. Terri and AJ swam over, climbing up the ladder on the back of one of the hauls.
"Well, we might as well have our open water swim." Terri sighed.
"Appropriate timing." Erin commented.
"Yea, why don't we just practice MOBs the rest of the day?" Amber asked.
"I don't know…the water is nice." Becca replied, dipping her toe in.
"Then go in!" Lexi and Terri then pushed her in.
"Oh my gosh, you did not just do that!" Becca yelled, sputtering and gasping for air when she came up, the rest of the group just sat there laughing.
"Here, Amber, why don't you join her?" Kevin asked and picked her up to throw her in. When he threw her, she held on to his arm and Kevin flew in with her.
"Brian, help me!" Becca whined, holding out her arm. Brian, the foolish one, held out his arm, but Becca just pulled him in.
"I'm jumping off the bow!" Nick announced, he and Lexi ran to the front to dive off, which they did… or at least tried. Nick ended up doing a belly flop, and no one still knows exactly what Lexi did…all they do know is that she landed on her side.
"I'm waiting a few minutes before I go back in." Terri sighed.
"Good idea."
"I'm also going in to get a soda." She replied.
"Not if I get there first!" AJ told her and rushed into the cabin area. This didn't phase Terri one bit, she just took her time walking.
"That was mature." She told him sarcastically, a smile cascading her face.
"Funny." AJ replied, grabbing her and holding her close. "Thanks for saving my life." AJ joked.
"Well, actually, Howie made me dive in after you…I wasn't even going to turn back…but he insisted." Terri told him, with a sincere look on her face.
"Really? Guess I'll have to tickle you then!" AJ told her, beginning to tickle her sides and stomach. Terri bent over, pleading for him to stop. "Ok, ok, I'll stop!" AJ told her, "If you give me a kiss."
"Never!" Terri told him, her face was half an inch from his.
"Fine then, prepare for tickling!" He warned, torchering her again.
"OK!" She finally gave in. "Humph…I'll kiss you." She replied, her bottom lip jutted out with her usual pout face. She leaned up and kissed AJ, pulling him to her and holding him there. Almost immediately his arms coiled up around her.
"You didn't want to kiss me?" AJ asked unbelievably after the two had pulled away.
"Yea, I did, aren't I a good actress?" She joked, smiling. When they went out side everyone was playing Marco Polo.
"Marco!" Kevin yelled out.
"Polo!" AJ yelled back.
"Shut up AJ, you're on the boat." Kevin yelled back laughing. "Marco!"
"Polo!" Brian yelled right behind him and Nick to his side, but they both ducked into the water before Kevin could get them.
"You all suck." Kevin muttered.
"I can't believe I was talked into watching this…" Lexi muttered.
"Me neither…I can't stand this movie." Terri agreed.
"Rose, you are going to have babies, and grow old…" Jack told Rose as they both floated in the icy Atlantic.
"Oh god…" Kevin muttered.
"Am I the only one who likes this movie?" Becca asked, looking around hopefully for someone to say that they as well liked it.
"YES!" Everyone replied.
"Sorry."
"It's ok." They replied, Brian gave her a light kiss. "We still love ya." He told her playfully. "Even if your taste in movies-" Howie was about to finish when…
"Sucks." Terri finished for him, causing everyone, even Becca to laugh.
The doorbell was heard and no one wanted to get it. It rung again, no one moved.
"I'll get it." Erin sighed, peeling herself from Howie's arms to get the door. "Hello?" She greeted to see two police officers at the door.
"Ma'am, I'm detective Shannon Cotsworth, we are here on account of a murder that just took place two days ago, on Thursday. Are you Terri Gunn, Erin McDougall, Alexis Black, Becca Reems, or Amber Lyons?" The detective asked.
"I'm Erin McDougall, Detective Cotsworth."
"Then you are under arrest by the Virginia State Police Department."
