About Us

'In the beginning was the word...and the word was God...'

We got together in a kind of random way - when our church asked a few people to take some instruments to a kids youth nite for them to have a play on.

Ellie had played drums for the youth services at church for a good year or so. Helen and Abbie have been great friends for a while before forming the band, and had previously been members of the 'rather' crap band, badly named D.O.G - best not to ask! playing once at a small self-arranged youth service, before deciding that perhaps it was best to quit while we still had some kind of social ranking!

When the three of us got together at the kids night and heard each other play. It was ellies comment of 'Hey! lets form a band' that got us all excited! So we did, we had a couple of risky kinda get together and jam sessions while various youth groups were going on - these were awful and anyone who heard...we're alot better than that!

'And God said "Let there be light"...and there was light...'

However, all was not lost. We had a first official band practise at Helens house, shortly after. Prepared some songs to practise, some of which to play at the gig we arranged shortly before that weekend. Ellie rang up the church warden who gave us a fornightly slot in the hall with useage to all the decent sound equiptment. Ellie also spoke to a man greatly connected with the church about the private recording studio! And so......Iddo began to take form!......

'God's Band'

We spent HOURS thinking of names, from fiXXed, to NAILOR, to THE NAILORS and more. However with some research from Ellie...again! She found the word Iddo. Sounded strange at first! However in the bible it apprently means...'God's Band, Power and Praise'. We felt this was appropriate as its a subtle god related name without people knowing. We liked it, it had a ring for a girls band!!! So Iddo it was!

'And on the seventh day God rested and said..."With this i am well pleased"...'

All three of us are Christians, living out our faith at Knowle Church. We all serve the church in many different ways, through choir, bands, services, youth groups, community work, the list goes on! We wanted our faith to be the main bulk of our band. And we felt that we could use our music to help spread the word, as well as enjoy doing it and making people enjoy our style! We write a range of material, depressing and happy! And also have worked on a range of covers! We're hoping to record soon, and really are excited about our bands future!
