Rumors:
The 'Order' in the title 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' could refer to the "Old Crowd" that Dumbledore sent Sirius Black to rouse up at the end of 'The Goblet of Fire'. The Order could consist of powerful 'good' wizards led by Dumbledore and including Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Mundungus Fletcher, Arabella Figg, 'Mad-eye' Moody and even Severus Snape.
The Phoenix could be Fawkes who plays an increasingly important role in the books. Phoenixes can live for a long time and regenerate from their ashes and so it is possible that Fawkes was owned by Gryffindor himself.
Professor Lupin is rumoured to reappear in 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' and will probably be the main source of Harry's new information about his parents.
Harry could be made a prefect? One Year 5 student is normally made a prefect. If not Harry, then it could be the conscientious Hermione or maybe even both of them.
Harry could be made captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team now Oliver Wood has left as the Weasley Twins are too irresponsible or will it be Angelina, Alicia or Katie? NO - it's got to be Harry.
Ron could become the new Keeper of the Gryffindor Quidditch team in 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' and everyone else! or possibly Neville who finally discovers his latent talent.
The new 'Defence against the Dark Arts' teacher will be a woman. Mrs Figg has to be the smart choice as it is likely that she is a witch who will help protect Harry. .Perhaps Fleur Delacour as the second choice.
'The order of the Phoenix' will be scary! But how can it be scarier than what's been before - do you still have nightmares about the dementors kiss like me? There are rumours that the dementors could join forces with 'The Order of the Phoenix to help fight the evil power of Voldemort and his followers.
Snape will of course be back but not as the "Defence against the Dark Arts teacher" as he so desires. The rumours are flying about Snape actually being a vampire. The genius of JK Rowling is her pre-planning of the plotlines and the hints are now stacking up that Snape will be revealed as a vampire but maybe not in book 5.
'Love is in the air' in 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' but who are the happy couples? See below for my guesses:
Harry & Cho - following the horrible death of Cedric Diggory, Cho Chang may turn to Harry for comfort but their seems little hint that she has strong feelings for Harry. Stillshe remains the most likely short term romance for Harry.
Harry & Hermione - too obvious for JK Rowling who likes lots of surprises.
Harry & Ginny - Ginny adores Harry but she is 'too young' for him to notice and probably still will be in Book 5 but I can see this blossoming by Book 7 as Harry's first serious relationship.
Ron & Hermione - surely Ron knows that he secretly carries a flame for Hermione but will Hermione stop working long enough for any thing to happen? YES it must happen soon - if not in Book 5 then we will have to wait for 6.
Krum & Hermione - Hermione seems to like Krum but he is really to old for her but she may use a relationship with him to make someone else (Ron?) jealous. She may got to see him in the summer holidays.
Draco & anyone - who would have him? Pansy might but he will probably be left unattached, except for Crabbe & Goyle.
Hagrid & Madame Maxime - Hagrid really needs someone to love instead of his hghly dangerous pets. Of all the rumors, surely this must happen..
Hagrid will recruit the help of the Giants in the fight against Voldemort in 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'
The revelations about James & Lily will supply the missing link as to why Voldemort kills them. Lily could even be related to Voldemort - his daughter?
Lilly Potter's maiden name will be revealed in Book 5 as 'Evans'
The 'Order' of the Phoenix may not be a group of people but perhaps the Order of the Pheonix's life as he lives, dies and is re-born from the ashes. I think this is obscure but an imaginative idea.
In Chamber of Secrets, JK goes through great pains to mention the resemblance between Harry and Tom Riddle. We know that Tom's father was a muggle. Could Lily be the daughter of the muggle father that left Tom's mother? Or, maybe he hated them because he was secretly in love with Lily but she never returned his affections?
Maybe The Order of the Phoenix is an award as when Gilderoy was awarded the Order of Merlin 3rd class. Maybe Harry receives an award for defeating Voldemort.
Tthe death that was hard for RK to write about in Harry Potter Book 5 will be Dumbledore.A t some point I think Dumbledore will be killed or at least removed from helping Harry and Harry will have to stand up and take on Voldermort on his own.
I think Lily was promised to Snape by Voldemort. If Snape was in love with Lily at Hogwarts, it would have made him hate James even more. Voldemort's curse was meant for Harry, not Lily. When Lily was killed, I think Snape went back to Dumbledore because he felt betrayed by Voldemort.
Cho Chang will become a more vital character in Harry Potter Book 5
