Ten minutes ago I left him
Walked straight out the door
After all the screaming fights
I just couldn’t take it anymore
Ten minutes ago I walked away
Leaving my old life behind
Starting my journey anew
Wondering what I might find
Hoping it’s not another little boy
Trying to save a faithful friend
Taking something dear to me
Never paying it back in the end
Hoping that another river
I will never have face
A fishing pole, a battle, a badge, a kiss
All from the same place
My heart
~*~*~
Ten minutes ago she left me
Walked straight out the door
Without a simply another word
As it slammed, my heart tore
Ten minutes ago she left me
And I’ve been crying ever since
Wishing for just one last chance to change
And give her the extra inch
Praying she’ll come back some day
The girl who I knew so
Since that fateful day by the river
Since we started to come and go
Praying that she’ll forgive me
Forget the words I said
I don’t know how to go on without her
Without her I’d rather be dead
Of a broken heart

One year ago I left him
I slammed the door in his face
But I think I left my heart behind
In that little place
One year ago I left him
Vowed to shut him out
But that’s the thing I just can’t do
For it’s his name my heart shouts
I’m hoping and praying with all of my might
It’s not too late to correct the fight
For it’s him that turns glaring day to beautiful night
So I’m starting back to make things right
~*~*~
One year ago she left me
And I’ve been lost ever since
I’m still standing here, waiting for her return
Waiting, as my heart she continues to mince
One year ago she left me
Now it’s time to turn things around
I can’t wait around any longer
For it’s her name my heart sounds
I’m hoping and praying with all of my heart
It’s not too late to turn light to dark
For it’s her that turns sunrise to sunset
And it’s for her I’m willing to repent
~*~*~
A year and a day ago
They parted from this very spot
Only to be reunited, reconnected
Rekindling the old spark
He’ll say a word
She’ll tease him back
But this time it ends in a kiss
Not a slap
She is his
And he is hers
Forever may they be together
