Name: Skribulous
Signature Quote: "Enjoy."
Personal Email address: maramala@hotmail.com
- Height: 6ft. 3in. (usual human form) 2ft 7in (chibi-dragon form) 600+ ft (true dragon form)
- Weight: About 100kg (human), 18kg (chibi-dragon), unrevealed in True Dragon form (Broke the damn scale... You try to weigh him, if you're so clever!)
- Appearance: Human form - Tall stocky Asian (ala Jojo no Kimyou Na Bouken syle) with
sparkling ebony draconic eyes and long curly black hair in a messy heap.
Wears an unbuttoned blue striped loose polo shirt over a purple t-shirt
with the word "BROKE" crudely scrawled on it in yellow, and a big heavy
padlocked chain for a belt, and very loose blue slacks and brown heavy boots.
Stoops low most of the time, making him look shorter than he really is.
His fighting pose is an exaggerated martial artist's basic "back
stance", with his hands hanging by his sides.
Dragon form - Typical oriental-style medieval fantasy dragon, with shimmering
chromatic scales.
Chibi-dragon - An SD version of his dragon form.
Alternate Appearance: Human form - Similar to 1P mode, but has
glowing crimson eyes instead of black, and his hair is now spiky and standing up.
He now wears an unbuttoned plain brown long coat instead of his usual polo
shirt over a black t-shirt with the word "BROKE" crudely scrawled on it in
yellow, and very loose brown slacks and black heavy boots.
Dragon form - Similar to 1P mode, but in muted/darker shades.
Chibi-dragon - Similar to 1P mode, but in muted/darker shades.
- Fighting Style: Shin Kamijutsu (True God Skill) - A mixture of martial
art styles reportedly practiced by all manifestations of gods themselves in
ALL Realities. Oddly enough, his fighting stance (which looks like Yamazaki
(KoF) or Jotaro (JoJo)) does not reveal any divine, infernal or any
supernatural uniqueness. Which a slouched frame, hands in pockets,
slitted eyes, bent knees, and constant smirk, Skribulous seems to be
enjoying the moment, looking totally unaware of what is really at stake
in this tournament. All his moves, which he developed himself, look
totally impossible to perform realistically, even considering chi,
magic, or psychic powers in the mix.
- Button Style: A hybrid of King of Fighters '99 and Marvel Versus Capcom 2 (4 button --
A (punch), B (Punch), C (kick), D (Kick) -- control)
- Bio: The draconic personification of the collective imagination of a simple
human dreamer, Skribulous started his career as a sage and mentor to
countless adventurers in fantastic worlds. (RL Note: GM of RPG games).
He was known to "adopt" certain individuals whom he sees potential, and
would aid them in their quests. He is known to be very partial, tending
to support the weaker side in mortal conflicts for unfathomable reasons.
Admitting himself to be a novice in the arts of creation, he travels
throughout the infinite realities, learning from other deities as much
as he could. He sensed the gathering of powerful beings and resolved to
learn more about this phenomenon known as the Focal Point.
- Intro: Skribulous intends to watch and observe the proceedings of this
tournament firsthand, participating if necessary, not to win, but to
maintain the Balance. To this end he maintains the facade of a
happy-go-lucky, bumbling young neophyte, all the while shrewdly watching
everything that is going on around him. If anyone asks for his
background, he would become evasive, dropping obscure hints that he is
somehow related to the legendary Amry and Lace (Dragon Spirit, a really
old video game), and that he joined the tournament because he enjoys
fighting. What he intends to do if he wins is, "sore wa himitsu desu." ^_^
Upon learning that the GMCA requires participants to form teams, he quickly
searched the dimensions for a suitable partner -- and found one in the
like-minded "legendary warrior" (cough cough) CrystalDrogn. One use of his
Continuum Control later (although he neither admits nor denies it), and
Team Kaiju was formed.
At first appearances, the two "Kaijus" look mismatched for partners --
their fighting styles, outward mannerisms and conflicting attitudes are
total polar opposites -- but they somehow manage to form a cohesive and
effective duo. The wacky Drogn's anarchistic nature suited Skrib's
chaotic neutral tendencies, making them the team to watch out carefully
for -- at least to try to keep them from making too much property damage
on the Realities where the fights will be held. ^^;;;.
- Theme Songs:
- Game Theme: Dragon Scale (Blue Nothing Productions)
- Main Theme: The Dragon Spirit theme (from Dragon Spirit, a really old video game)
- Alternate Theme: Everlasting Gaze (Smashing Pumpkins)(30% chance of the music changing to some other, similar song)
- Stage: Unlike most of the other participants, Skrib does not have a stage
of his own. Instead, the match is set in his opponent's area, except that
the whole stage is rendered in greyscale, and all background animations
are "frozen" until the end of the match or he is defeated. If fighting
versus his alternate version, the stage chosen will depend on their
partners, which is chosen randomly.
- Weapons: Skrib does not use any conventional weaponry. (See Special
Resources for details.)
- Special Skills:
- Insane surreal fanfic writing Skeelz.
- Jack, Queen, King and Ace of all trades, whenever he feels like it.
- Interesting but Useless Trivia.
- Ivory Tower of Intellect and Will. (So forget trying to mind-control him.)
- Continuum Control. (A form of Reality warping. Basically, if it advances the plot,
he can simply force EVERYONE to act OOC... Fortunately, he choses not to consciously use
this. UNFORTUNATELY, he still does so occasionally, unintentionally of course. ^_^)
- Special Resources:
- Like a metamorph, Skrib has full body awareness, and can instantaneously
shift parts of his body to his dragon form, giving him twice the arsenal of
natural weapons at his disposal. In this regard, he decides to limit himself
and not to use any weapons, relying only on his own power to prevail to make
things "fair" to the other participants.
- With his reality-warping skills of continuum control, Skrib can create
almost any simple objects conceivable (no expensive stuff, precious items,
currency, etc., just your food, water, rocks, signs and stuff...). The more
useful items (like senzu seeds, SD-Skribulous plushies and the occasional
Power Crisis) are usually stored in his Personal Reality Center, which is
basically a pocket dimension he can open at will. These are not infinite,
however, and he mostly relies on his manager Signus for the more important
detail of aquiring new stuff.
- In relation to his many obscure hobbies, Skrib is knowledgeable in a lot
of things. Unfortunately, most of these information are random trivia bits he
has aquired over the infinite reaches of all realities he has been to.
- In certain battles, Skribulous can transform to his dragon form to fight.
(For all you Godzilla/Xenogears/Escaflowne fans ^_^.) No matter who or what
his opponent is, he can match them in size and power levels, but not much
else. For all intents and purposes, he is considered a kaiju in this form,
using all his moves, only scaled to Giant Monster/Robo size.
- And let's not forget the disgruntled, cynical but fanatically loyal
manager Signus. ^^;;; (I [hate] my job... -Sig)
- Openings:
- 1st Round: The opponent begins their round opening, but Skribulous
is nowhere in sight. After the opponent finishes performing their animation,
there is a loud dragon roar, then a dark shadow covers the area. The shadow
passes away quickly in a quick eyecatch as Skribulous drops down from the
top of the screen. He formally bows to his opponent, saying, "Enjoy..."
then performs his standard opening.
- Standard: Skribulous lifts his hands and proclaims, "DEMENSEONARU
BATTOUROU THEATRE!" (not a typo!), and the current background slowly wavers
and shifts to greyscale. Skribulous then assumes his fighting stance.
- Vs. Self: Both versions lift their hands and proclaim, "DEMENSEONARU
BATTOUROU THEATRE!" at the same time. After the background greyscales,
both of them say "Fun..." as they assume their fighting stance.
- Vs. ClassicDrogn: Both do the starting motions for their team-up super
(see G-Stomp below for details), but Skrib
continues with his standard opener.
- Vs. Neovid: After Skrib does his standard opener, Vid faces the camera
and cheerily says, "Isn't he great, folks? It's like someone saw me and
the Wyvern and based a character on us!" Skrib angrily protests, "Hey!
I'm NOT a ripoff!" Skrib then notices that the name on his side of the
screen now says 'NeoWyvern.' Skrib then leaps up and knocks the letters
off the screen as the fighting starts.
- Vs. Epsilon: After landing on the ground from above, instead of bowing
formally, Skribulous instead morphs to his chibi-dragon form, waddles next
to Epsilon, takes out a notebook and pen, and grovels at the Anti-Christ
in Training's feet, holding up a sign with the word "Autograph?" crudely
written on it. Signus then enters the screen and takes the sign, whacking
SD-Skribulous with it and making him revert to human form. Signus then
stalks off the screen, muttering "baka", as Skribulous sheepishly
performs the standard opener. Meanwhile, Epsilon performs his Super
Finishing Pose the whole time at the poor shmuck's antics.
- Vs. Dan: As per Epsilon's opening, save for one difference.
(See Glitches below for details.)
- Taunts: Note: All his taunts are cancellable, so any attempted
attacks during the taunt will be met with a rude surprise, especially if
his taunt is followed by a Gladiator or PB Field.
- Skribulous says, "Enjoy..." while formally bowing to his opponent.
(As 1st Round mid-animation)
- SD Taunt: (f,b,f,b,d,u+start button)
Skribulous morphs into his chibi-dragon form, promptly raising a sign with the
word "SUKERFISH!!!" crudely written on it. (30% of the time the words
written on the sign is something VERY insulting to his opponent instead.)
- Surrender Taunt (d,d,d,u+start button)
Skribulous hyperjumps straight up, going right out of the screen. After a
moment, a dark shadow crosses the stage, a dragon roar can be heard,
signaling that Skribulous has left the area. The background then reverts
to normal with the opponent winning the round.
- KO'ed:
Skribulous screams, "I SUUUCCCKKKK..." then disappears in a burst of sparkles
as he hits the ground. If he lost and the fight continues, the background
is restored to normal, unless in a vs. self match, in which the background
will remain until the alternate version is defeated or wins.
- Finishing Poses:
- Standard: Says, "Thank you...", while formally bowing to his fallen
opponent.
- Alternate: Morphs into a chibi-dragon, promptly raising a sign with the
word "WAI!" crudely written on it.
- Desperation: Drops to his knees, clutching his chest, then says, "Thank
you..." as he looks at his fallen opponent.
- Perfect Victory: Shakes his head, then says, "That's it?!?" while shrugging.
- Flash Finisher: After the screen clears, he ruefully looks down at
his fallen opponent, who is covered in white and red "goo"
(actually blood and saliva -- See Flash Finisher description), then says,
"Looks like you have bitten off more than you can chew... while I'm not
supposed to." ^_^
- Draw: Morphs into a chibi-dragon, promptly raising a sign with the
words "Thanks... I think." crudely written on it.
- Time Over Loss: Shakes his head, then turns away from his opponent.
- Time Over Win: As standard or alternate finishing poses.
- Vs. Dan & Epsilon: Will always do his desperation finishing pose.
- Victory Quotes:
- "That was an... interesting style."
- "I have learned much from this match... Not much, to be honest, but still..."
- "You must defeat Sh... waitaminute, I *AM* Sheng Long. WAI!"
- Vs. Self - "There can be only... Nahh, that's been done."
- Vs. Dan, Epsilon - "I... Won...?"
- Vs. Neovid, B.W.A. - "I'm not a copy. I'm better."
- Vs. Drogn, Replica - "Whoops, didn't mean to limit myself like that."
- After Desperation - "That was so close..."
- After Perfect Victory - "Come back and show me what you can really do."
- After Flash Finisher - "...Sorry 'bout that, but it had to be done."
- Character Strategy: Skribulous has all the advantages of SI Author Avatars.
But instead of using his Continuum Control (similar to Drogn's Edit Powers) to
their outmost limits, his tournament incarnation adopted a passive position
so as not to attract attention. Thus he is not the fastest or the strongest
fighter in the tournament, but his various comboable moves are potentially
unstoppable in the right hands. The biggest attractions to Skrib are his
excellent priority moves (beats attacks if counters are done early), fast
recovery (can perform most specials without fear of leaving himself open),
little lag (can outmaneuver even some of the fast specials), and fair
assortment of useful maneuvers in all situations. The closest existing
fighting game characters comparable to Skrib would be K', Kula (both KoF)
and Iceman (MvC2). His damage ratings are questionable, though; as a
Dragon and an SI Author Avatar, he should be on par with the strongest
fighters in the tournament, but instead is about slightly above average
due to the comboability. Fortunately, almost any style of fighting can be
applied to Skrib, as he can hold his own at any level and range.
- Attacks:
- Launcher:
Laconic Behind
- Leans back on the ground, supported by both his arms, and kicks up
with both feet. Excellent anti-air in a pinch with its good priority.
(df+C) (2%)
- Guard Breaker: (See Glitches below for details)
- Command Normals:
- Smackdown
- Swipes with his hand which morphs into a claw. Very quick overhead,
knocks down crouching opponent only, will not knock down standing
opponents. Can be comboed. (f+A) (5%)
- Polearm Kick
- A quick axe kick that hits twice. Excellent priority, knockdown on the
second hit. First hit is an overhead, and can be cancelled. (f+B) (4%
per hit)
- Ground Gain
- A slide kick. Another move with excellent priority, has very good range
and can go under high fireballs and specials. Do the move again to perform
a finisher, where he kicks up at the opponents head for an overhead
knockdown, especially effective against crouch-blocking turtles. (df+D)
(4% per hit)
- Throws:
- Airborne
- Grabs the opponent, then drops down with his back to the ground, tossing
his opponent up into the air. Button determines distance of throw. Can be
followed up with most quick attacks. (b+any button, ground) (7%)
- Pike Drop
- Aerial move. Catches the opponent in mid-air, spins around, then slams
them into the ground. Direction determines the area they will land. (any
direction+P, air) (7%)
- Knee Fang
- Counter grab. A unique move, will only work when Skribulous is grabbed
by the opponent. Skribulous viciously performs a deep rising knee strike
at the opponent from the crotch upwards. Will work against all grabbing
moves except grab Supers. (f+K repeatedly when grabbed) (5%)
- Specials:
- Reverser Dismal
- A grabbing attack, makes him switch places with his opponent. VERY
quick, and has the best priority among his specials. Does not do damage,
but the grab stuns opponent for a moment, which set them up into combos,
especially when setting his opponent into the corner. (hcb,f+P) (0%)
- Lancelet
- An aerial stomp kick. Since he bounces a bit backwards and up after
scoring a hit (whether blocked or not), he can either pull back to
safety from retaliation or repeat this move again, making this really
nasty if his opponent is cornered. (while airborne, d+B, repeat as
desired) (2% per hit)
- Spitfire
- Ye basic ho-hum fireball... in more than one sense of the word, since
in this case the projectile LITERALLY torches the opponent, leaving a
blackened and charred form covered in ash for a moment. Speed and range
depends on the button pressed. Button can be held down up to 6 seconds
for a bigger and more damaging projectile. He can still move and block
while charging up the fireball. He can even perform and release the
fireball while crouching or in the air. While charging the attack, the
animation frames will show him sucking on two fingers of his hand, and
when releasing the fireball, he whips out the hand outwards, shooting
the ball of flame. At full strength, can cancel any projectile attacks,
including supers. WARNING: The Spitfire must be released after 6
seconds, or he will burst into flames (no damage) and be stunned for
a few moment, leaving him open. See Glitches, below, for specifics.
(qcf+P hold, then release) (3%+2% per second)
- Harbinger
- Ye basic munchkin bastard rising uppercut... now with a most vile
incarnation. The first time Skrib executes the Harbinger, he rushes at
his opponent and performs the rising uppercut. For every "Z-motion"
(aka. "dragon punch", forward, down, down-forward+P) performed up to
three times, he does an additional rising uppercut, and performing the
Z-motion after the third strike makes him perform the finishing move
from above, a two-fisted overhead hammer blow over his opponent. Both
buttons have slightly different animation frames, but the results are
still the same in terms of damage and speed. The first rising uppercut
has autoguard, and the last uppercut is an aerial move, which is
followed up with the finisher. The whole combo string has excellent
priority. Both versions can be interrupted, and both punch buttons
can be interchanged for variety. (Z+P, x4) (4% per hit)
- PB Field ("Plotline Bu||$#!+ Field, Activate!")
- He goes into a 'mirror stance'. He bends his legs in an exaggerated
horse stance, raises his arms high, grunts... And that's about it.
UNLESS the opponent decides to perform any attacks during this
animation, in which case he blocks and counterattacks instantaneously,
most of the time using a damaging claw swipe. Does not work against
grabs or projectiles, but can work against supers that involve physical
attacks. If opponent does not retaliate, he resumes his standard
fighting stance. (rZ+P) (15%)
- Fokker Twist ("FuX*- Dis!")
- Skrib makes a quick forward hop then does a "screw attack", his body
spinning around in mid-air and landing a drop kick on his opponent.
This move can hit aerial opponents. This move also has autoguard.
The D version hop goes over fireballs and hits twice, although the
B version is both faster and comboable. The D version can also be
interrupted after the first hit. WARNING: If he misses, he painfully
slams to the ground headfirst instead, stunning him momentarily and
leaving him open and defenseless. Great, if somewhat risky, combo
starter. (qcf+B/D) (5%/8%)
- Gladiator
- Does a slow guardbreaker shoulder charge... but there's more to this
move than being a poor Shingo copy. If the opponent is hit, they take
some damage. If the opponent blocks, the attack breaks their guard, and
they are stunned momentarily. Has no priority, for a reason: if the
opponent counterattacks, he vanishes... only to reappear behind them,
in which he can follow-up with another move, even supers. Works even
against projectiles, but not against supers. Smart opponents can counter
this by anticipating where he will show up, and then attack. Or time a
grab attack as he is about to connect with the shoulder charge. (rZ+K)
(%7/%0 if countered)
- Aborigine
- The cheese move that make him frustrating to fight against. (Usually
nicknamed "THE Evil Skrib Move".) He crouch dashes at his opponent,
going under high fireballs and specials, with a clawed hand outstretched.
This is a grabbing attack, and so cannot be blocked. When he makes contact
with the opponent, he does a quick flurry of attacks reminiscent of
Iori/Goenitz's supers (KoF). He then finishes the asskicking by getting
behind the opponent, then either ripping the back (B button) with a
clawed hand, or grabbing the head and slamming the opponent to the floor,
hard (D button). Plus, the move can be interrupted before the last part,
making this the very evil maneuver in his arsenal to (ab)use in combos.
(hcb,f+B/D) (%6/%9)
- Supers:
- Vomit Flame S
- The token Mega-Attack Super everyone and their dog are toting around
nowadays. This one is a pumped-up version of the Spitfire, with a
HUGE(!) continuous beam of fire, occupying 2/3 of the screen. The Super
does great tick damage if blocked. Can be done in the air. (qcfx2+P)
(30%/10% if blocked)
- T Balance
- Skrib raises his arms in the air, as if he is performing the middle part
of his PB Field animation. The screen then "whites out" for a few (>3)
seconds, although the timer freezes at this time. This one does no
damage to the opponent, but instantly cancels ALL status effects and
continuous attacks occuring on screen immediately, including specials
and Supers. Used mainly to nullify drones, non-character summons,
"multiple images"/shadow helpers, and attrition-damaging attacks,
otherwise is totally useless. This Super will NEVER be disabled by
any attacks that would normally deny Skrib from using Supers. (qcfx2+K) (0%)
- Desperation:
- Kishin Kourin Nageroboshi Kudaki ("Barneen Leemit Meteo Crash!")
- Skrib hyperjumps straight up, going right out of the screen. After a
moment he crashes down in his immense dragon form, squashing his opponent
flat (only his lower body can be seen on-screen). He then jumps back out
of the screen, and comes back in human form. The attack is so huge as to
be undodgeable (attack fills up over 4/5 of the screen) and the lard-assed
landing snuffs out almost all retaliatory attacks, but can be blocked(!)
for a whole mess of tick damage. The initial leap animation is considered
a knockdown attack that has autoguard which pretty much makes him nearly
invincible to non-projectile attacks, including supers. (qcbx2+K)
(45%, 20%(!) if blocked)
- Ultimate Attack:
- Chou Ichigeki Satsu ("Suppa Wan Heet Keel!!!")
- Skrib looks up above and screams as the background turns tinted-red
negative, then he charges towards his opponent, clawed hand outstretched.
If his hand connects, he performs several Reversal Dismals for a while,
then as the opponent staggers, charges up a Spitfire...
(Insert Dramatic Pause here.)
But then in a puff of smoke, he reverts to chibi-dragon form, holding up
a sign with the word, "BOO!" crudely scrawled on it. Then as the opponent
looks on unimpressed, he whacks them with the sign for MASSIVE damage
(^_^). WARNING: If the initial rushing move is blocked or dodged, he
is screwed big time, as he angrily stomps the ground in frustration and
leaving himself wide open. The background is restored to its usual
greyscale afterwards. (f,b,A,B,f,C+D) (60%)
- Flash Finisher:
- Kyuu Kyoku Hougii Jigoku
- Skrib slides backwards, going right out of the screen. Moments later, he
returns in his immense dragon form, his huge maw agape open, and swallows(!)
up his opponent whole (only his head and neck can be seen on-screen). Then
he turns towards the screen and breathes fire, resulting in a white-out
effect. (d,d,b,b,f,f,C+D)
- Team Helper:
- Striker
- Skrib jumps in and makes a predetermined attack depending on the relative
distance and position of the opponent. If the opponent is right next to
him when he appears, he does an Airborne. If the opponent is in the air,
he does a Harbinger. If far away he does a Fokker Twist. Either way,
they're all good for combo starters. (6%)
- Team Supers:
- Team Edit:
Vomit Flame DX
- He does a Vomit Flame S along with his partner's super. (30% or +20%
to partner's Super)
- Teamed With Self:
Ougi Shiki Hissatsu Waza ("Seecret Stayle Alteema Keel Sturaiku!!!")
- Both perform a Gladiator from opposite sides of the screen. If any one
of them connects or is blocked/hit, the opponent is trapped as they both
do an multi-hit combo, ending with an Aborigine followed by a powered-up
Harbinger. (40%)
- Team Kaiju:
G-Stomp
- He calls out to Classic Drogn, who enters the screen. Drogn asks, "Are
you ready?" Skribulous replies with, "Let's go!!!" Both of them then
superleaps together upwards and out of the screen. Moments later, the
two of them land back -- but since both are in their giant forms, only
their feet can be seen on-screen as they take turns reducing the hapless
opponent to a messy smear on the floor. (45%)
(Secret: Press START to hear a chorus of voices screaming, "Who's yer
DADDY? Huh? Who's yer DADDY?" while the G-Stomp is going on. ^_^)
- Glitches:
- The DEMENSEONARU BATTOUROU THEATRE deal
- Skribulous' entrance is not just a thinly-veiled attempt by the lazy
programmers in reducing animation code, the greyscale effect also means
that any background effects that would normally affect the battle will
be suspended while in the "Null Interferance Zone".
- Fun with Spitting Fire
- Skribulous' fireball attack is very glitchy, and will sometimes work in
strange ways. Some Spitfires have different properties depending on the
opponent.
Multiple Spitfires can be done on-screen, but sometimes Skrib bursts into
flames after the fourth or so fireball as if overcharging the Spitfire.
There is a bug that will go around this glitch, however: Hold both punch
buttons when charging, but release only one button when firing. As
long as you keep holding down the other punch button, just do the fireball
motion again, and Skrib will immediately launch a Spitfire with the same
strength as the last one, even when the last projectile is still on-screen.
(Megaman, anyone?)
Any non-Spitfire move that requires the punch button terminates the charging
up period and releases the fireball.
There is also a confirmed 30% chance that the startup and release animations
of the Spitfire has both autoguard and invincibility, which can be
identified when Skrib's eyes are glowing.
- Guard Breaker Glitch
- Also called Unblockable Spitfire. (Occasionally called "The Other Evil
Skrib Move" by those on the receiving end.) As per KoF standard, do a
Reverser Dismal (hcb, f+K) the moment the Spitfire hits the opponent.
The opponent drops their guard and will get hit. This only works against
blocking opponents.
- PB Field Glitch
- As if it wasn't enough, the PB Field (rZ+P) is also full of bugs.
Although certain moves (like Replica's 9.82 Smash) are technically
projectile moves, Skrib's PB Field would randomly work against them.
He would catch the thrown object with a clawed hand then chuck it
immediately and effortlessly back at the opponent, doing PB Field
damage (15%). Only works about 30% of the time, and only against
certain non-fireball (energy) projectiles.
- Supaa Sayajin Skribulous?
- When fighting vs. Dan, a glitch in the color palette gives Skribulous
yellow/golden hair(!), although no other noticeable difference in
gameplay is observed.
- Wai! Fun Epsilon Bugs:
Even when fully charged up for six seconds, Skribulous' Spitfire will
still only deal minimum damage to Epsilon. (3%)
A loud dragon roar can be heard when Epsilon successfully executes a
Pointless Cliffhanger on Skribulous and they leave the screen.
When Epsilon successfully makes his Critique of Doom, Skribulous
immolates himself with flammable paint instead of commiting pencil
suicide. ^_^
- Wai! Wai! Fun fun Replica Bugs:
Whenever Skribulous morphs into chibi-dragon or performs his Ultimate
Attack or Flash Finisher, his dragon form will be colored blue.
Conversely, Replica's dragon form will be multiple/rainbow colored when
fighting Skribulous.
When Skribulous performs an uncharged Spitfire right at the same time
Replica does her plushie flamethrower taunt at close to point-blank
range, the gout of flame rebounds and char-broils Replica instead for
minimum Spitfire damage. (3%) (Note: This is intentional. Look closely
at Replica's dragon plushie. ^_^)
Naughty, naughty, Rabid Fangirl... Only works if Replica connects at the
end of the dash during her Rabid Fangirl move, and Skribulous should be
doing a PB Field at the same time. When timed right, Replica begins her
animation that would deal heavy damage, but Skribulous slaps her away
from *that* area (complete with resounding *SLAP!* sfx), wagging his
finger scoldingly at her, saying, "I'm no roricon! At least, not in
public..." h_h
Volleyball Spiked 9.82 Smash... see PB Field Glitch
- "Need a hug, Mister?" The Infamous Disturbing Yuusuke Bug
Skribulous does a Gladiator (rZ+K). Right before connecting, have
Yuusuke perform any grab move. When timed right, Skrib will be
"frozen" in his Reverser Dismal grabbing motion, and will be "stuck"
hugging Yuu. Skrib will be unable to move, attack or take any damage
at all, and Yuu will be unable to shake off his hugging opponent
either unless he uses a Super move, which Skrib will be unable to
defend against. Also known to work vs. Nathan, Charles (he can call
Replica to pry Skrib off instead if she is partnered with him), BWA,
(\/)ajin (Baragostin), and any other opponent with an "angst" shtick,
although this is called the Disturbing Yuusuke Bug since it tends to
ALWAYS works when fighting versus Yuu. (Ewww...)
(Secret: Pressing START as long as Skrib is glued to Yuusuke to hear
Yuu scream out "GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF~!!!!" :p)
- Vs. Self Bugs
If Skrib is matched off with himself as 1st round opponent, and the
start button is held down until the beginning of the round, the timer
is replaced with an infinite symbol, meaning that there is no time over.
When one Skrib performs a Spitfire and the other counters with a
Spitfire at the right moment, instead of launching a fireball the
fireball currently on-screen will bounce back to it's original thrower.
What's fun is that the first one can throw another Spitfire, timing it
right that will rebound the fireball to his opponent, and so on and so
forth... Fireball War! Wai!
- Partner Stock Boost Glitch
Whenever Skribulous loses the match as first character from a Super,
Ultimate Attack, Team Helper, Flash Finisher or Team Special, his
partner will receive a full super meter and maximum stocks. Does not
happen all the time, though...
- Motivations:
A dragon's heart years for knowledge... So does Skribulous; he enters the
tournament not to win but to watch and learn from the other participants
with their dreams, hopes and aspirations. Human emotions such as these
are alien to him, but he is learning, little by little, with each passing
day... His true goal is to last as long as he can in the tournament so as
to study the other author avatars' styles and perhaps improve his own.
If he does win, well... Sore wa himitsu desu. ^_^
- How Skribulous talks:
Monotonous, droning, and a sinister booming roar, this is how Skribulous
really sounds like...
But since he learned long ago that this just won't do in social circles,
he adapted. ^_^
Most of the time, he would adopt a humble, apologetic, self-depreciating,
unassuming, funny and constantly upbeat demeanor, letting the insults and
threats slide off his scaled back as he attempts to diffuse tensions
between competitors. (Unfortunately, his attempts tend to backfire, so...)
He never keeps grudges for long, and will always attempt to be friendly,
no matter how hostile. More observant characters will notice him copying
some of their speech patterns during conversations, but most probably
will be more concerned with his constant tendency to wander on a tangent
and ramble endlessly, pointlessly and in a roundabout way, expositioning
like there's no tomorrow. To his friends, he is more chaotic and
irritating, to the point of frustrating them, especially if they don't
get his gags (which happens pretty often). He especially enjoys making
VERY vague OCRs and non-sequitors that leave everyone else listening to
scratching their heads.
- How Skribulous acts:
In formal situations, Skribulous lets his manager Signus do the talking
for him, and hang back in the crowds, watching everyone else's reactions
both when he's in the background and whenever he actually contributes to
the situation. He would rather much prefer staying in libraries or any
area used to store the information he seeks. To maintain his claims of
mediocrity, he intentionally fumbles everything he does, makes BAD
impressions, while always avoiding from using more of his author avatar
powers as is absolutely necessary. He is also something of a incurable
busybody and meddler, and will always offer his help to people he believes
needs it, even when they do not want it. And even if his offer is refused,
he would still discreetly aid them whenever he can like the interfering
little twit that he makes himself out to be. ^_^ However, he will not
attempt to break the tournament rules no matter the circumstances.
Bending them to the limit is OK.
And oh, yeah, he's also a bit of a hentai, but is VERY GOOD in hiding it. H_H
