Chapter 45

About 10 minutes later..... Matt was leaning against the railing watching Angela sharpening the end of her table stick with the blue chalk cube. Matt had only one more of her balls to get in to win and Angela had 2 of his. She was up, if she got them both in the pockets she would beat him, winning.

Angela took a deep breath as she lined up the shot and got one in. Now they were tied. Angela now felt nervous. She bit her nails quickly analyzing the last shot. Everyone was watching in anticipation, holding there breaths as Angela leaned over to hit. Angela held her breath as she watched the cue ball roll into the 8 ball and watched it fly to the wall bouncing of the one side and then the other before rolling to a stop.

Angela felt her heart sink, she had wanted to beat Matt, she knew he’d get the last ball in beating her. Even though she was sad because she knew she’d lost, she was on the other hand a little nervous and excited to find out what Matt would say he wanted -she prayed he would say he wanted her.

Sighing Angela looked up at Matt as she walked over to the railing leaning against it staring at him. Lita and the other girls came over talking to her and told her she played a good game and that she’d tried and did a good job and giggled at how impressive the game was.

Angela looked back to Matt and his gentle smile. His sweet smile was so nice, it wasn’t a confident, haha you lost, I’m better then you are smile, but his sweet, you tried your best, you kicked butt smile! Matt stared at her and winked Angela blushed as she watched him whisper to Jeff who laughed and ran off through the crowd, toward the dance floor.

Angela wondered where Jeff was going, but turned her attention back to Matt. Angela watched as he got the last ball, the 8 ball into the corner pocket winning. Lita had her arm around Angela and they all cheered as the guys celebrated the win for there man Matt.

Angela leaned over to Lita whispering, "Do I look okay?"

Lita glanced at her and laughed, "Yeah you look awesome! Matt’s drooling I know it!" Lita said giggling as Angela smiled.

After a few moments Angela who was talking quietly with Lita looked up feeling eye’s on her. Matt met Angela’s eye’s an the way he stared at her made her feel nervous, but totally excited. What did he want? Angela felt her heart beating faster. Angela stared at Matt.

Just then Jeff came up next to Matt and whispered something to him. Matt smiled patting his shoulder.

Matt sighed. He was nervous. Matt grinned at her as he motioned for her to come closer. Angela sighed taking a deep breath, she forced herself to move.

Angela reached the pool table and leaned against it staring at Matt who was leaning against the other side.

"Excellent game Angela." Matt said softly smiling at her.

Angela grinned, "Thanks." She said softly shivering.

Matt grinned. Angela who couldn’t stand the silence or the suspense any longer blurted out, "Matt we had a deal, tell me. Name one thing you want......." Angela started to say when the lights in the clubb went dark then faded to dim and the disco ball lights started to spin elegantly around the clubb. Angela glanced out to the dance floor as a slow song started and couples formed. Angela’s heart raced, she felt so happy, but nervous that she thought she’d throw up. She took a deep breath as she looked back to Matt’s eye’s.

Matt watched Angela’s eye’s sparkling, a little nervous touch to them. He grinned. Angela pushed her bangs away from her face and stared at him.

Matt grinned. They both knew that everyone was waiting to hear what Matt was going to say. Matt suddenly decided that it wasn’t very right or romantic to just kiss her with all there friends looking on. He wanted to feel like he was alone with her even if there were tons of people around. Matt took a deep breath smiling devilishly at her.

"Matt!" Angela said totally overcome by the suspense.

Matt grinned, "I want you to dance with me......" Matt said staring at her.

Angela didn’t know what to say. Was that all he wanted? That’s it! She felt her heart sink...

Angela shrugged, "A deals a deal!" Angela said softly. Matt could tell immediately from her reaction that she was disappointed. Matt had to use all of his strength and will power not to smile, she was definitely going to be happier in a few moments.

Matt came around the pool table and took Angela’s hand holding it gently. Angela stared at him and sighed.

Matt lead Angela through the crowd and onto an open spot on the dance floor. Matt let go of her hand and they shared several moments where there eye’s locked and had an intimate private conversation.

Finally Matt smiled. He sighed as he took a step closer to her, very slowly sliding his arms around her waist. Angela was disappointed, however she loved being in Matt’s arms - she couldn’t help herself, she wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his shoulder, snuggling tightly in his arms as they silently began to dance. In there silence they both had time to think, the music was nice and romantic, Matt listened to the sweet song as he held Angela warm and close in his arms.
