Luther Ronzoni Vandross, nick named "Ronnie" by his family, is known to many fans as "Luther". Luther was born on April 20, 1951, in New York, N.Y.. Luther received his middle name Ronzoni from his mother, who get the name from a box of Ronzoni spaghetti. Luther is the youngest and only living child of four children. He is blessed also to be here. Luther almost didn't get a chance to live. He was born premature, after his mother had surgery for a ruptured appendix.
