Luther Vandross was discovered by David Bowie who overheard Luther singing his song "Young Americans". Bowie put Luther on the recording of the song. Luther Has worked with many artist such as Whitney Houston, Patty Labelle, Chaka Khan, Ringo Starr, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer. He has done duets with Cheryl Lynn and Gregory Hines. Although music comes very natural for Luther Vandross, he has starred in many movies: "The Meteor Man", and "The Wiz". No matter how great this man really is, he had his share of ups and downs. On April 16, 2003, Luther was found in his Manhattan home semi-conscious from a stroke. He was hopitalized and had a tracheostomy due to an onset of pneumonia.
