NEW YORK RADIO PERSONALITY LAUNCHES A REAL APPROACH TO BLACK WEDDINGS

New York, NY (BlackNews.com) - Chocolate-Brides.com is an eye-catching website that specifically caters to the bride of color. It includes a mesmerizing Music Room playing choice wedding tunes, a Tips section which provides no-nonsense advice, the Motivation column produces instant inspiration and the Photo Gallery is where you can showcase your cakes, flowers, dress and hairstyle ideas.

The most amazing element of Chocolate-Brides.com is the message board. It isn't only a haven for brides-to-be but also for the pre-engaged, pregnant, just married and even those veteran brides who have been happily married for several years. This is the one place where brides of color can seek advice on make up tips, get recommendations on how to dress up their locs and find answers on how to deal with an unruly soon-to-be mother-in-law. On Chocolate-Brides.com you can talk about weddings 24/7 and personally journal your experience along the way.

This one-of-a-kind website also offers an easy to navigate virtual mall with space for banner ads, tile ads, media pages, sponsorships and listings in increments of 3, 6, and 12 months. Advertisers can then connect with brides-to-be in the vendor forum located within the message board.

Chocolate-Brides.com is the brainchild of New York radio personality Kesha Monk of 98.7 KISS-FM. As she began to plan her September 2003 wedding, she quickly discovered that the African American bride was grossly ignored. Mainstream publications didn't seem to meet the interests and lifestyle of the African American bride & groom. The models portrayed in most magazines did not come in a variety of skin tones, shapes, or sizes. She searched continuously for makeup tips, hair ideas, and ways to incorporate her heritage into the ceremony. She felt compelled to create a solution...hence the birth of Chocolate-Brides.com, where the motto is, "We're not just a website, we're family!"

"We are ecstatic about the response that we have received thus far about the concept of Chocolate Brides," beams Kesha. "One bride to be went on to say, 'The love is felt all around. It lets you know that good, healthy, happy love does exist and is going strong. I know so many people that could benefit from this community. I am always telling my single and married friends about this place. This board is more than just black people who are planning their wedding. This board is like family.'"
